Where did you find your favorite lanyard to cruise with? Last time I cruised, lanyards were not needed but it appears from multiple people that they are now. Give me your advise on your favorite one, with or without a pouch etc.

Well, just off the Glory on Saturday... I wouldn't say that lanyards are NEEDED. It's entirely up to you. Carnival does not provide one, but many, many people just hold on to their card in their hands. Probably most people.

However, I bought a lanyard and a plastic card holder that I attached to the lanyard at Staples prior to this trip to have just in case I wanted to use it. As it turned out, I did not need the plastic card holder at all since Carnival had the card pre-hole-punched at one corner so I just hooked the card directly to my lanyard fastener. I never used the plastic card holder at all. I never had to remove the card from the lanyard for any purchases or entry/exit off ship. I would just hand over the entire lanyard to bartenders and staff as needed and they handed it back.

That's my experience from last week.

Just got off the Carnival Freedom and I can confirm that you can still get a complementary plastic lanyard from Casino cashier. I always tell them I want one for the slots(no I don't play the slots). I've been doing it for years. Its not as nice and the once they sell, but it works well.

We got our lanyards from Wal Mart. The have the simple hook on them. They also have a quick release clip on it, so no taking our lanyard off each time we need it, we just unclip the bottom part.

Lanyards aren't really needed. It's a matter of personal choice. The pouch is not necessary, and will probably be more of a hindrance than a help. Amazon has lots of lanyards to choose from. Home Depot and Lowes have lanyards near their key cutting area. I've seen them at Hobby Lobby and Walmart. Sporting goods stores will usually have lanyards of various sports teams. Office Max and Staples have plain lanyards, usually red or black. Just do some looking around and you'll find something you'll like.

We got ours at Home Depot on sale for about $3 each, nice ones that have a click off point so you don't have to take it off your neck to hand to bar staff, etc. I have seen the same ones at Walmart, I think.

I got this for my last cruise. Worked great for carrying everything.

Our favorite lanyards are the ones they gave us on our Behind the Fun tour on Conquest. But if you don't already have one you might have to wait until towards the end of the cruise to get it. Ours was on one of the last days of a 7 day. As lanyards go, it's nothing spectacular but it was a fun tour and it was on our 30th anniversary and I don't really care for the plastic coily one they give you in the casino.

Our first couple of cruises we used the coiled one given out in the casino, never really liked those, and have since paid the huuuuuuuuggggeee bucks for the Carnival logo ones sold in the Fun Shops, which work better for us...with the pre-punched s&s cards, we clip em and go.

I actually use the ones from the casino and clip it inside in a small crossbody purse I carry everywhere. It weighs nothing, but, I can keep my camera/phone, chapstick, etc. in it. It's tucked away, but, easily found, available when I need it, stretches as far as it needs to and I don't forget it anywhere!

I’ve been using the carnival fun points lanyard I got on my first cruise. For the past two cruises the card won’t stay on it so I have to put a little bit of duct tape on the clasp

Personally I do not think they are needed. I have never used one, and just kept it in my pocket, and it has never been lost.

If you prefer one, then that is different... I was just clarifying that I didn't think they were "needed"

Have a great cruise.

I purchased a good one from the photo shop on board. Nice quality.

I found these on Amazon. They're nearly identical to the ones offered for sale in the photo shop.
