Pacific Jewel in drydock

Pacific Jewel is currently in drydock at Garden Island , Sydney , Heres the view from the bridge cam.

Its great to see them doing a dry dock in Sydney for once :)

It has been ages since a cruise ship has been in the Sydney dry dock.

Pacific Jewel will be nice and fresh for her Auckland season.

Cheers, didn't think they were doing dry docks here anymore.

She needs a lot of work, hopefully they do a good job on the refurb.

My sister and niece are on the first sailing from Auckland and I'm on her in June - looking forward to the renovations. My daughter used to call the Connexions Bar "The bar where people go to die"... it was so depressing. Thankfully that is one of the renovations.

No doubt about that. Sadly the aren't doing anything to the cabins which would be good.

The cabins weren't too bad but what really needs attention is all the corrosion around windows and open deck areas, just painting over it just isn't good enough, really makes the ship look old.

There will always be rust on a ship.

It's not just rust, the areas have no metal left so just plugged up with some type of filler and painted over, it's ugly and in plain sight in public areas, not a good look.

I suppose it doesn't look good, but as long as it isn't dangerous I don't care too much.

That’s because she’s hiding behind the trees

So she needs to cruise with trees around her all the time then, although then people will complain about the views. Can't win.

She's getting her new livery... very exciting to see this old girl come to life again.

Thanks for the preview , Looking very smart. Not a fan of some painted hulls but that one is real cool.
