VIP Check-In

We are sailing on the Miracle on Feb. 1 and have the advantage of using the VIP Check-In since we have a suite. There are a few others traveling with us that do not have a suite. Does anyone know if they can check in too using the VIP Check-In line since they are traveling with us?

I'm not sure about suites. But we are platinum and our non platinum friends check in with us........no problem:)

How many??

7 Of us are Platinum, 7 are not...I wasn't even going to try...but it never hurts. I have had success and failure. Just depends on the agent.

This last time we had only 2. Time before 4........

They also allow priority tendering for all of us.........

Maybe if you break them up in groups with the platinum people.....

The other "platinums" are my kids staying in 2 other rooms. It's worth a shot for me to ask...like I said, sometimes it's a go, sometimes it's a no.

I am platinum, my kids are not. I just got of the Paradise on the 2nd, we had 2 cabins and I took them right in with me and they checked them without saying a word.

It might be an issue with non-related additional cabins however. I haven't tried that and didn't see anyone trying that. Although the other guests were commenting at how lucky my kids were to have me for a mom!:D

I have been traveling with my brother and his family every year for the past 10 years. We never had a problem boarding with them as they are platinum. Then last year we werent allowd to board with them. We were told that the rules changed and you can only check in vip if you are in the same cabin as a platinum guest.

That's the way it should be. Platinum members & those that have booked suites are entitled to that perk. Other guest should wait until they have earned that priviledge.

We are Platinum this cruise and getting a Cat 11 because it is our 5th anniversary (we got married on the Glory the same day this one is leaving).

We always travel with my brother and sister in law and our 2 best friends (they are not Platinum nor have a suite).

We thought about asking if they could get priority boarding with us but changed our minds. We figured that if everyone did this, the priority boarding line would be just as long as the regular line. We talked to our traveling companions and they agree wholeheartedly.

I agree with a couple of exceptions- your children under 18 who are traveling with you but may be in a different cabin or an Adult with special needs traveling with you. Both should be your family members. I think if you talk to your TA or PVP about this it can be arranged before you sail as VIP and Platinum cards are kept in a different spot than non VIP/Plt cards. This would speed up the process for the agent checking you in.

Our kids have a room across the hall and whoever is in that room checks in VIP with us. Last cruise the Carnival rep. denied my kids but after a brief "word" with him, they were allowed to check with us in VIP.

No rule change for us 3 weeks ago.......we have never had a problem with our non platinum friends/family embarking, disembarking or priority tendering.......

Okay, so having asked this before and never gotten an answer. What exactly is the point of having VIP if those who don't have it can use it? Either it's a benefit for those that have either purchased a suite or have 10+ cruises, or it isn't. Which is it? Carnival might as well do away with VIP since it seems that everyone is entitled. And I'm not talking about minor children. What is it about some adults that they can't check themselves in and meet up later with their friends/family? BTW, it's not rude to have those that aren't VIP meet up with you later.

I am going to get Platinum way before my boyfriend since he just started cruising with my in October. If we cruise with his 2 kids are the 4 of us going to be able to check in together in Platinum, it would be 2 cabins on the booking, one with him and a child and me and a child.

That to me is a legitimate reason to use VIP. Yes, if you are considered VIP, then everyone in your immediate party can. This isn't the same as 15 members of an extended family cruising together. This is two adults and two minors traveling together paid for by the adults as a family.

Um, I'm just making a point. The fact that those that don't qualify aren't capable of standing in line seems a little extreme to me. Would you be upset if those you were traveling with had either a suite or 10+ cruises and could get VIP but you couldnt and had to stand in line? I wouldn't. We dont' live in a socialist society and I hope to God we never do.

We live in such a "victim, woe is me" society. People need to get over themselves and realize "life isn't fair". Never has been. If I didn't buy suites, I would NEVER expect the same privelege as those that do. It's not a VIP privelege if those that don't qualify can use it is it? Now is it?

Here Here! I worked long and hard to earn the status, and that's what it should be, status.

If myself and my wife are in a suite and I am platinum, and we are with another couple in a balcony room, I will book myself in their room and one of them books with my wife, that way we all can go through VIP. Is that a probem?

Okay, Devil's advocate, do whatever the heck you want. Apparently, some sit around and think up ways to get around everything. I have more important things to do in life.

You'd think they were giving away cash the way people try to get around this.
