Going out of Houston on June 24th. Thinking of getting there EARLY on the 23rd and doing the NASA tour. We would get to Houston approx. 8:30 am. Hope to drop luggage at hotel and do NASA and then back to hotel for the night before cruise. Does this seem possible? There would be 3 adults and 2 kids. Any idea on hotels or transfers and stuff.

Thanks.

Since there are no cruises out of Houston, I presume you mean Galveston. Are you arriving at Bush or Hobby? Hobby is much closer to NASA and Galveston. In any case, you are looking st a fairly expensive transfer process, and you may want to look into renting a car for the day.

We're actually going to be doing this in January. We're on the Freedom on Jan 13th, but driving down on the 12th to do NASA. We'll be be staying at Courtyard Houston NASA/Clear Lake then get up early on the 13th and head down to Galveston...it looks like it's only about a 35-40 min drive.

We've stayed in that area pre-cruise. It's an easy drive down I-45 to Galveston (about 45 min). There are lots of hotels in the NASA area, many right off I-45, and many moderately priced. We typically pay $70-$100, depending upon location and grade of hotel.

Yes it is certainly possible and quite doable. Now, how much time you will have at nasa depends on which airport you fly into, what hotel you stay at and how you plan on getting from airport to hotel to nasa back to hotel and then to the port the next day.
