What's the most you've won on a cruise? My husband played one machine in the casino on Carnival Fascination last fall and won $25 on a $1 machine, then hit it with over 1,000 points to win another $312 on a 25 cent machine. I know this is peanuts to some, but we NEVER win, well almost never. I won $12, nothing to sneeze at and we put it all back into the machines. This was during a 3 night/no Nassau cruise because hurricane Jeanne was there. So tell me your stories everyone! Who really hit it big & what did you do with your winnings?

Thanks!

My wife and I each one a deck of cards for being the worst at hula hoops. The entertainment director grabbed on to the hula hoop and ran around my wife! And my daughter wins the hula hoop contest every year at our 4th of July block party. Don't know where she got those genes.

Kente,

Wow, what did you do with the money? That was great! We saw a lady with a whole bucket (KFC size) of silver coins ($1 each) who won on our last cruise. Onevacationlover, that is a large amount for bingo! That should have paid for your trip, almost, right? Speakup, hey, I always have the worst card, I should have been there that day, then you wouldn't have won!! just kidding! Hotmike, I would have liked to have seen the hula hoop thing, sounds like loads of fun.

On our very first cruise I won over $600 on the quarter slots. It was enough to pay off our Sail and Sign account in cash at the end of the cruise with a little left over. The following year, on a different Carnival ship, I won over $500 on the quarter slots and again used it to pay off our account at the end of the cruise. Alas my lucky streak ended there and although I've tried on all subsequent cruises I've not come out ahead in the casino. It sure was fun while it lasted.

I won the CRUISE! I stuck my name in a box put out by a radio station and got a call early one morning that I was getting an all-expense 8 day cruise on the Mississippi Queen (including air). BTW..while on the cruise I did get a bottle of MQ bubbly for winning the talent contest.

My wife and I were on the Legend 3/27/05. Wife played Roulette and won about 200 dollars. I took 2 $1 bills and played the Nickle machines and after 3 days had $250!!!! Not a bad return.

wow, we've had some great winners! Bob, tell your daughter I'm sailing with her next time. LOL. hvsteve, you won a great cruise. Some day I want to sail down the Mississippi. Bilge, $3,800 is great. What did you spend it on? Most of us small winners wish we could win more than the $200-300, but we'll still take it, right?

Me, personally, I don't win because I don't gamble. (and the reason I don't gamble is because I never win... )

But, my husband does. He won $4,000 on a slot machine on a Carnival cruise. Which that in itself is odd, because he never plays the slots, but in this instance he was down a bit on the blackjack table so he thought he'd take a 20 dollar bill and stick in a poker machine before heading back to the cabin. After only a few trys, he won the big jackpot! Needless to say, that made the rest of the cruise quite enjoyable!

Another time, my niece won a free cruise playing bingo.

ElC,

Wow! what a stash! What did you spend it on??? I would have gone shopping, but then I'm a female! MszK, congrats! that is a nice amount. Funny how a passing thought about doing a couple of machines for a short time can change everything!

Welll...I didn't go shopping exactly...but my husband did. :D

The big win was on the last day of a short 3 day cruise so no chance to shop in a port, so the only place I could shop was onboard.

I like to collect Lladro figurines...specifically if it is a cat or has a cat in it. (If you aren't familiar with Lladros they can be quite expensive. A small one costs about $200.) So in the gift shop was 2 Lladros that I had been admiring. Also, in the gift shop was another type of figurines that were pretty pricey also....a set of 7 really cute alley cats.

Earlier in the cruise, he had told me that if he won enough money he would buy me a Lladro. So, when he won, he offered to buy them all for me, but I declined, opting to get only one Lladro because I thought it was too much money to spend on all of them, and I figured his winnings would pay for our cruise and then some. So I was quite happy with getting only one Lladro.

Our cruise was in Sept....so come Christmas Day...what do I get?....The other Lladro!....AND all the other figurines that I was admiring!

I didn't have a clue that he bought them. (We were travelling with friends, and he had them pack them in their suitcases so I wouldn't know.)

What a sweetheart!:D

Last year on the last cruising day of our Alaska cruise (our first cruise we ever had taken) my husband forced me to go play Bingo (I wanted to take a nap) Well needless to say he bought me the cover-all winning ticket and I won over $7,550! Bingo is now my new favorite past-time. It's amazing what a celebrity you become when you win that coverall, I was so excited, I was spending it in my head before I was even out of the room much to my husbands dismay. We ended up on a family cruise on Disney in January with my two daughters and neice and nephew. It is a wonderful memory!

My best friends were on the Carnival Pride 3/27/05 sailing. On the last night of the cruise, my friend's wife hit a $4000 jackpot on the dollar machines. At the time, we were on the NCL Star 3/29/05 cruise and they called me on my cell phone to have me book a cruise for them so they could join us on the NCL Dream 9/22/05 sailing.......that's where they decided to spend some of their winnings and with the rest they pretty much paid for the cruise they were on. I wish I were that lucky

This isn't that big of a story but I thought I would share it because it is a memory I will never forget.

A couple of years ago, I was on the NCL Dawn and had just come out of a show. I headed for the casino, wanting to play some blackjack, but the tables were full and from looking at the players I could see that the tables were kind of cold -- no one seemed to be winning and the energy didn't seem right.

So I decided to go get a drink at the bar to see if things changed. While there, partly out of boredom, I guess, I put a $20 bill in a video poker machine. Usually video poker is not my thing -- I like the live interaction of blackjack more.

I played for about 30 minutes with my $20, winning some, losing some, but mainly getting kind of bored. Finally, when I was wondering if my $20 would ever run out, I hit a royal flush. My bet was only 25 cents, but the odds were like 800 to 1. So I won $200.

I decided that was as good as things were going to get that night. I cashed in my receipt for the $200, went back to my cabin, ordered a bottle of wine and sat out on the balcony, watching the ocean and contemplating my good fortune!

On the Sea in 2000 I won $810 on a quarter machine...3240 quarters on one of those 5 pay-line machines. I gave a little back but not much! Then on the Sky in 2003 I ended up about $120 to the good gambling-wise at the end of the cruise...slots again.

On the Galaxy in November I won one bingo game during the week and then split the final game cover-all on the last night for $1,800 (each)!! That made for a very nice Christmas!! That was the first cruise that I'd had any luck on as far as bingo goes. We don't play bingo all the time on cruises and, frankly, bingo on NCL ships is higher than any others and we tend to abstain but I have found the slots on NCL ships to be very loose...knock on wood.

I usually bring $50 or so to gamble with in the casino. Carnival and RCCL have taken it very quickly each time!
