As we returned to Carnival's Conquest cruise ship, we were in for a pleasant surprise:

Ironically, there are over 25 types of drums in Jamaica but Jamaicans usually only use three types within their style of music.

DRUMS are Jamaica's heartbeat and we were enjoying the show that Wednesday evening, September 26th 2012!

As we boarded the CONQUEST, we could see Island boys playing soccer outside and having fun!

Sail-away celebration aboard Carnival's Conquest - Montego Bay, Jamaica (September 26, 2012)

Our Sailaway celebration was as warm as the welcome that we received earlier that day in Jamaica
(and the tropical shores of Montego Bay City)!

I enjoyed the drummers but really liked your new vids on the evening show! Motown, a nostalgic moment for DW and I.....

As nchikk put it:

"Ok, Motown show. We enjoyed this show. Basically it was a flown-on entertainer performing with the ship's show band. At one time he pulled a few volunteers from the audience. The music was good. The audience members added a comedic aspect to it. At one point, a woman (bless her heart) ran to the stage and proceeded to request a song of the singer. He was nice, trying to get her to understand it wasn't really a radio show where she called in requests, but what are you gonna do? Bless her heart, he finally got her to sit down. 5 claps. "

As part of the CruiseMiles Party group aboard Carnival's Conquest cruise ship (remember, won this Caribbean cruise for free basically!),
all 160-170 of us were assigned to late seating dinner in the Monet Restaurant.

As the lighting inside the restaurant was still dim, let's use again the visuals of Dave Wilson's outstanding photography
to showcase the space for this casual dinner:

We all love MOTOWN!

So after dinner, the entire gang went to the Toulouse Lautrec to see the evening show starring RON JOSEPH!

In Toulouse Lautrec, the CASH CRAZE BINGO was still going on that Wednesday night:

So we ordered DRINKS waiting for the show to start...

Finally, the "Night of Motown Hits" starring RON JOSEPH started and the singer and entertainer did not disappoint!

I remember the Motown show well. It WAS a fun show. Not sure which show you attended, we went to the 8:45 show, but we also remember a lady running up to the stage a couple of times to make requests. And then there was the young man who just couldn't sing, or maybe didn't know the words, ut he came along toward the end.

Again, great pics...we're re-living our cruise.

Glad we could help revive some of the nice memories from the wonderful Western Caribbean cruise taken at the end of September 2012!

As part of a fairly large organized group, we all had late dinner seating (starting 8:15PM in the Monet Restaurant
vs. Renoir at 6PM that I believe you and your lady had), so we went to the 2nd show, around 10:30PM or so.

Consequently, we missed the 'events' you mentioned as those seem to be part of the earlier show...

Nevertheless, a very entertaining and engaging show! Everyone enjoyed MOTOWN!

Again, thanks for being loyal to this thread and for writing a more detailed review of our sailing!

BTW: The more detailed review of our sailing can be find here, complementing nicely the pictures of this thread:

Great Review and photos. What camera are you using ?
Thank you for the positive feedback!

The camera is a somehow 'older' Panasonic Lumix, FZ35.
