General Questions about Med cruise

Considering the Mediterranean Celebration at the end of December.

How are the included excursions? What did you do before or after while in port?

Is it a mistake to book the lowest category and not be able to pre-book excursions and dinner reservations?

Anyone had experience with January temperatures and sea state in the Med?

I have not taken my cruise yet, but I am booked in the lowest category cabin and was able to book excursions 60 days in advance. I think they changed their policy on that. Cannot, however, book restaurant reservations until onboard, but I'm confident I'll not go hungry.
