MIAMI, October 20, 2005 - Norwegian Cruise Line continues to closely monitor the path of Hurricane Wilma. The company has altered Norwegian Sun and Norwegian Dream’s itinerary out of the Port of Houston to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests and crew.

Norwegian Sun called into Cozumel on Tuesday as scheduled and stayed over on Wednesday instead of heading south to Belize. Norwegian Sun will be at sea today and call into Progresso, Mexico tomorrow instead of Roatan, Honduras.

Norwegian Dream called into Cozumel on Tuesday as scheduled, then Progresso, Mexico yesterday instead of Belize and is at sea today and tomorrow.

As of now, the company has not altered any other itineraries; however, the company’s contingency itinerary plans, based on the storm’s path and intensity, for its ships deployed on the East Coast are ready to ensure safe and enjoyable cruises.

As always, the safety and security of our guests and crew is our number one priority.

If the company alters any itineraries, NCL will post the information on http://www.ncl.com under “Storm Update” and advise the team in the call center, who can be reached by calling 1-800-327-7030.

I don't see any button that resemble updates on storms. Please advise, as I'd like to get updates since I'm supposed to be leaving Houston on Sunday.

Until any changes are made over and above those already posted, the info is on the 'News' section of the NCL website. The 'Storm Update' section will only materialise if any further itinerary changes are made.

If you can not see the "Storm Upddate" on NCL's site, it is because your browser if pulling up old data. Clear your CACHE and then reload the site.

this is such a touchy situation:

If NCL or any other cruise line see's a storm developing and makes changes to the itinerary, then the storm changes course and goes no where near the original path, everyone will gripe about the fact that could have gone to the ports that were missed.

or

if they wait until the last minute to make a decision people complain that they are taking too long to make a decision.

My feeling is that they do not take these change lightly, there are probabl;y many things involved and a lot of cost involved in making changes.

Yes, but in this case they had already made the changes. They are just two days late in making it available.

Not sure when this was updated but, just in case anybody cruising on the Dream or the Sun this weekend has not looked at NCL's website, here are the current revised itineraries:-

Norwegian Dream (October 22 sailing out of Houston) will now call into Veracruz, Mexico on Monday with an overnight stay and spend a full day there on Tuesday. The ship will spend a day at sea and call into Progreso on Thursday and return to the Port of Houston on Saturday.

Norwegian Sun (October 23 sailing out of Houston) will spend two days at sea, then call into Belize on Wednesday and Roatan, Honduras on Thursday as scheduled. Subject to Hurricane Wilma having moved well away from the Yucatan Peninsula as predicted by Monday or Tuesday, Norwegian Sun will then call into Cozumel, Mexico on Friday if the port is open for cruise passengers. The ship will return to the Port of Houston on Sunday.

NCL do state that these are subject to change, depending on weather conditions.

As the safety and comfort of our guests is our utmost priority, the company will be altering Norwegian Dream and Norwegian Sun’s itineraries in accordance with the weather conditions as they are now:
