Working on same ship

Hi everyone,

If a cruise ship employee works on a praticular ship, what are the odds that employee will be back on the same ship after their time off? Do cruise lines keep employees on the same ships mostly, or do they shuffle them around?

thank you!

Depends on the cruiseline, what the job is,how much time they are off, etc.I would say that chances are they will get shuffled around more than not.If you have this person's name you could contact the cruiseline, and they may be able to tell you what ship they are on or maybe(and don't hold your breath on this) get a message to the person.

In some cases, if not all (probably depends on the crew member's job), they can ask to be reassigned to a different ship after their time off.

Perhaps they'd prefer the experience of a different ship, a different itinerary, whatever.

I have run into crew members from past cruises a few times. Once, it was on the same ship, but most times, on different ships.
