Marcys Posted June 5, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2004 My son would like to take a sub tour. I read an older post on Atlantis and other subs. Looking for more recent reviews. Thanks!
izzyvet Posted June 6, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 6, 2004 My Mom and Dad did the Atlantis Sub just last week. They liked it, but my Mom had snorkeled a little bit before and she liked the snorkling better. My dad won't get in the water though. They took a few pictures which you can see if you click on this link: Submarine pictures They are the first six pictures on the page. HP_Lovecraft Posted June 9, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 9, 2004 I assume the cruise-lines have these all booked up, so there is no use in trying to book it myself to save money? -nick
Marcys Posted June 14, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted June 14, 2004 Nick, Here's a link to a site where you can book the sub yourself at a discount rate. HP_Lovecraft Posted June 14, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 14, 2004 Thanks! Thats $11 cheaper then our cruise-price, so it would save us $22. I DID note on the website that they will NOT charge your creditcard if you miss port because of weather. Thats good, since I keep hearing that the caymans is the most missed port in the western carribean (because of weather, and the difficulties of tendering). There price for a Stingray City trip is also pretty cheap. I might see if I can do both within my limited stay. The port is only 7 to 3pm. With tendering, I'll probobly be ON THE ISLAND from 8 to 2pm. [This message was edited by HP_Lovecraft on 06-14-04 at 05:47 PM.]
Marcys Posted June 14, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted June 14, 2004 Glad you're able to get a savings. I have a family of 4, so my savings is greater. I'm still trying to get feedback on whether the sub trip is worth it or not. I know many people weren't impressed with the one in St. Thomas. They said you sit shoulder to shoulder and don't get to see much. My impression of this one from pictures I've seen from someone else's vacation posted on-line was that it was bigger. Have you heard anything about it??
