"BEACH CLUB" COLONY RESORT?

We are first time cruisers and plan to book an excursion through the ship (Royal Caribbean). Its called Snorkeling & Stingray City Combo & Beach experience. After snorkling at the Coral Gardens & Stingray City, it on to our beach experience at "Beach Club" Colony Resort located on 7 mile beach. They will serve us lunch there and includes a chaise lounge. Any comments on this excursion? Is Beach Club Colony Resort a nice area of 7 mile beach? Please....any comments at all are helpful as we have not booked this 6 hour excursion priced at $89 pp. Thanks, Donna

Hi Donna42,

You would be much better off booking the Stingray City excursion on your own and skip the Breach Club altogether. All beaches in Grand Cayman are free to the public even the one at The Beach Club. We used Soto's who charged us only $19.00 pp and they were wonderful. There were about 15 on our boat and they helped us in and out of the water and showed us how to hold and play with the Sting Rays. On the Cruise excursions you are on some kind of people mover with 60 or 70 other people and it looked like it took them about 30 minutes just to get everyone off the boat. Soto's will meet you at the dock and drop you off anywhere on 7 mile beach and then you just taxi back. We did go to the Beach Club afterward but we would never do that again. It was overcrowed with cruise passengers from all the cruise ships in port and the people who worked there were extremely rude to us. Try www.grandcaymancruiseexcursions.com for some more great operators. We are going to try sailing on a catamaran next. Hope this helps
