statistic info on best time (least rough) to Antarctica

I have read a lot of January vs. March re rough seas for Cape Horn, Antartica sailing and Drake's Crossing, but do not know about February. We are considering a sixteen day trip on the Star Princess leaving Feb. 19, and am wondering if that is a better or worse bet than January regarding avoiding extremely rough seas. Has anyone researched this?

We sailed in the Drake three times -- In January.

First trip west bound; Buenos Aires to Santiago.

We were *hammered* by a storm.

We had an outside cabin on the Promenade Deck and had waves coming

past our window !!! Ship was trashed.

Second trip South/North to Antarctica;

No problem.

Trip the week before us encountered heavy seas both ways.

Have spoken to folks who cruised there in February and March.

Some had rough seas; some did not.

The Drake has a mind of it's own.

Do not know of any documentation concerning sea conditions in any given

time frame.

I realize this does not quite answer your question;

however, I am giving our experiences in the Drake.

Have a great cruise!!!
