sjn911 Posted January 5, 2010 #226 Share Posted January 5, 2010 (edited) This was such a wonderful treat and find!!! Dear Bob UK, My grandmother did a watercolor of a windmill with that exact vantage point I am so pleased to have. The same dear Grandmother passed on a recent "blow" of St. Helen's...a spritual moment because I was across the Columbia from it and saw the blow clouds in Cascade Locks, Oregon at the same moment...was just thinking of her when I came to this place...thanks for photos and moment...sjn911. franmadre Posted January 19, 2010 #239 Share Posted January 19, 2010 I read in this web site about the awesome sunset at Santorini's. Well it is and Solstice took us there! Istanbul - taken from the ship as we approach the city - unforgettable! Capri - another magical sunset! What a way to start a day on board! Eliger Posted January 19, 2010 #240 Share Posted January 19, 2010 Looks almost like a Hawk. How far from land was the ship? I have been told that the bird is a peregrine falcon, and the bird landed on our balcony as we were leaving the island of Dominica. It stayed on our balcony at least a half hour before flying away. CruisinManiac Posted January 20, 2010 #242 Share Posted January 20, 2010 (edited) franmadre - Beautiful photos! What type of stateroom did you have? I have been told that the bird is a peregrine falcon, and the bird landed on our balcony as we were leaving the island of Dominica. It stayed on our balcony at least a half hour before flying away. Gerry Interesting! Speaking of Dominica, this is one of my favorite from a trip there last October. I had no idea that crabs could live in the rain forest. The little fellow surprised me! :) He was BIG! Edited January 20, 2010 by CruisinManiac
