Has anyone ever hit a jackpot on slots on the ships?

If I win a good sized jackpot I usually take it to customer service and put it on my account. That way it is there and I can respend it or hold it to pay off my bill (I know I incur the 3% fee).

I have won $3,000 and $2,000 and several smaller on NCL ships. About a year ago I went to Atlantis and won $11,000 between a slot machine (gave me 278 free games for $3,000). I felt lucky so played a $1.00 video poker machine (usually stick to quarters) and hit a royal for $8,000 after about 5 pulls.

I was scared to death going back to the ship but I got it quickly into my safe, paid off my week's bill and kept most of it for future cruise spending money.

Oh, also bought the grandkids a super nice swingset for their backyard and took my DD's family on a 6 day cruise on the Gem. We lucked out and got a 2 BR suite for all 5 of us for $2000 total.

I'm going to hit a jackpot on my upcoming cruise starting this Saturday.

I hope you are already in Miami with the weather going through! Good luck! Keep the machines warm for me - I'll be on her the following week!

We're leaving from Port Canaveral and I got here yesterday, Played 18 holes of golf and managed to sneak in an ice cream cone. We're staying at my wife's twin sisters house and she's joining my wife and I on the cruise. Always a good time. I see they cancelled over 6000 flights almost right away.

That's great u got there early. Bet there's going to be loads of sad people this weekend that can't cruise due to the snow storm :(

Our ship was just about filled so I don't think we missed many cruisers at all if any. Nice cruise, good shows and music. Great service in the restaurants. Oh, and I did hit a jackpot on the last night to end up ahead. That really adds to the level of enjoyment of a cruise.

my daughter and two friends had to cancel no flights out of balt/wah=

Sorry to hear that. I remember one time 6 of us were taking a cruise out of NYC. We live in Albany about 150 north. So we decided since it was a special cruise we would hire a limo. What could happen? We got down by NYC and got stuck on a highway to the port about 10 miles north. Some kind of party going on. So we sat there and went to start the car and the battery was dead. Getting close to sail away time so I found some guy with an empty van who would drive us to the port. Of course some of our luggage was in the limos trunk and the only way he could open the trunk was with a remote. Didn't work because the battery was dead. I saw a tow truck up the hill from us and bribed him to drive across the lawn and jump our car. He did and it worked. Long drive to the pier and we got there just as they were taking down the ramps. Whew.

On my first Carnival cruise I won $3000 on our last day. On another cruise my husband sent me to the casino while he stayed with the kids. Imagine his surprise when I returned 15 minutes later with $2500!

My husband won the jackpot on a slot machine the 2nd sail day on Carnival Elation 2 years ago. We sailed the same cruise, same ship almost 12 months later, as soon as the casino opened on the 1st day, my husband slipped $20 in the same exact slot machine (as I called him crazy for thinking he'd win again) he won the jackpot again. I have pictures to prove it because no one ever believes us lol! We had heard soon after the slot machine was either moved or taken off the ship.

I think your husband took it home.

This question might have been answered somewhere in the 15 pages but .....

What happens if you win more than $10K? I know flying back into the U.S. you have to declare if you have more than $10K in cash .... and I'm assuming the casino gives you cash, not a check?

Never had this problem but would love to on a future cruise. :D

About 20 years ago we won over $13000 on a cruise but it was all in amounts under $1000. We didn't know of any special laws and just carried it off the ship:o

In Nevada my DH won $28000 and when we took it to the bank we showed them the W2G showing what he had won. They still had to do a lot of paperwork but we had the form to show how we came by that much cash. So, I would guess you could do the same as the ships casino should give you a form.

I won $14K on my cruise last December and was mindful of the $10K rule I paid off ship's bill in cash and then gave my husband part of it. Made me a little nervous to walk around Rio with so much cash.
