Krissta Posted November 6, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2009 Everywhere I look, February vacation for schools happen mid February. My cruise is February 27-March 6. For some reason, the ship seems packed! There aren't even any 2 person balcony cabins left on the Panorama deck! :P So I can't even check for price drops! Just wondering what is going on during that time... :)

Krissta Posted November 6, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted November 6, 2009 Kind of early for Spring Break.... Yeah, that's what's weird. It's in bewteen, yet some reason there are a TON of people cruising. We have 30+ people in our roll call already!
firefly333 Posted November 6, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 6, 2009 From what Iv seen, February prices are really good, unusually so. Usually January is good and February is a little higher, but next year Im seeing matching prices for February, so with great prices, more people are probably booking. JennBunny09 Posted November 6, 2009 #6 Share Posted November 6, 2009 In mid febuary there is mid-winter break/presidents week. Here in WA state kids in school get the whole week off for presidents week so a lot of people vacation then =]
tbjl24 Posted November 6, 2009 #7 Share Posted November 6, 2009 Many people choose to sail when they know the kids will be in school. Just because kids are in school doesnt mean the ships sail empty, just less kids onboard.
LHP Posted November 6, 2009 #8 Share Posted November 6, 2009 Usually there is a surge of kids around President's Day....but I believe that falls earlier than the 27th. It could be that more and more schools are doing different holiday scheduling and year round schools????
cb at sea Posted November 6, 2009 #9 Share Posted November 6, 2009 Yeah--it's President's Day....lots of state and federal employees take extra days. It's a fairly big travel time.

I bet that most cruises are pretty packed from December to March.

DTC Posted November 6, 2009 #16 Share Posted November 6, 2009 Do a google search on Spring Breaks!! We originally had a cruise booked for March 6th and once I looked at the list, we bumped it up to Feb 20. All over the country the colleges have different spring break weeks. Good luck, I'm sure you'll have fun!!

We get them in Daytona Beach every year around Bike Week and just after bike week starts the Spring Break boom.

tor548 Posted November 7, 2009 #24 Share Posted November 7, 2009 I was kinda wondering the same thing Krissta. I know I am happy with the price we paid, but OBC or a price drop would be sweet! Maybe after final payment there might be a small dip. I also noticed that not many suites are sold at all. My guess is that this once a month itinerary is just popular. Some people pick a cruise for the price, the ship, the ports, where it leaves from, etc. I'm betting alot of people like this itinerary because it is a little bit unique.
