CRUZGAL53 Posted January 6, 2010 #26 Share Posted January 6, 2010 We stayed at the B & B Sydney Harbour in The Rocks. It was very nice (like staying at home!) and the breakfast was great. The inkeeper is Jeff and his cute little dog Mate.
Grumpy100 Posted January 9, 2010 #27 Share Posted January 9, 2010 We stayed at the Four Points Sheraton. Very convenient to Sydney Wildlife World the Aquarium and Darling Harbor. We were upgraded to a harbor view, got to check in early at 9:00 am, a fabuluous buffet breakfast was included :(even better than on the cruise ship) for around $180 AUS. It worked for us. The hotel staff was very helpful in directions and getting our luggage and taxi's. Hope this helps. It was only about a 5 minute taxi ride to the ship as it docked in Darling Harbor. CharleMarg Posted January 12, 2010 #28 Share Posted January 12, 2010 This is one of the better sites for easily comparing prices of hotes in Sydney (or other places as well): http://www.wotif.com/hotels/australia-sydney-hotels.html Hope this helps! BayCalif-Ariz R Us Posted January 14, 2010 Author #29 Share Posted January 14, 2010 Thanks Charle - that's a good site but it does not appear to go quite far enough into the future to help me right now, b ut I'll keep it in mind and also keep nibbling away at Priceline:D. darienill Posted April 25, 2010 #30 Share Posted April 25, 2010 I just got back. We walked over to the Holiday Inn and it is across the street and down the hill to the Circular Quay pier. 10 minutes max. We stayed at the 4 points which is on the Darling Harbor side and had room quotes from $165 to $185 with breakfast. The staff was amazing with help. A Princess ship was in while we were there I would cab it to either dock from 4 points. Lots of traffic in the area.
Bookish Angel Posted April 25, 2010 #31 Share Posted April 25, 2010 We paid US $150 a night and really liked the location, the free breakfast buffet, the quick check-in, the book swap shelves in the lobby and the heavenly lemongrss-scented toiletries - so perfect after over 30 hours of airplane funk. 8dimsum Posted May 8, 2010 #33 Share Posted May 8, 2010 We liked our stay at the Rydges World Square hotel. Downstairs was a large grocery store, many eateries and shops in the area. Monorail connection. Chinatown is 2 blocks away, and it was a pleasant walk past the Sheraton by the Park to visit a natural history museum. -- We chose to have the Club feature: daily continental breakfast and an evening Happy Hour. The Lounge had 4 computers with free internet available for guests.-- We have stayed at other Sydney hotels (the Intercontinental, the Grace): they were OK. We prefer Rydges' and its location. janice4559 Posted May 9, 2010 #34 Share Posted May 9, 2010 Try 1800hotels.com. We got lucky and booked Four Seasons for $150 usd for mid-October. I notice the prices fluctuate between $150 and $350 and have no idea why, but you might get luck too.
mabel58 Posted May 14, 2010 #35 Share Posted May 14, 2010 The Radisson on Pitt St, about a 10 minute walk from Circular Quay, has good deals and is a consistently nice, central hotel to stay in.
