Other than the items listed for Butler Services in suites are there any additionl ammenities for Penthouse and/or Royal Suite passangers? Additional services, cocktail parties, dinners etc? Have traveled on Celebrity 3 times previous, however, not in the suites listed.

Thanks for any and all replies.

I have found that butlers will do anything they can for you... We have breakfast every day in our suite.. and they basically helped us with any questions, reservations, excursions, tickets, etc..

They would certainly help with a cocktail party..arrangements, service etc... but the drinks would not be free....not sure if that was what you were wondering..

Is there anything specific you are thinking?

Thanks for your response. I was thinking for of the cruiseline putting on special parties and lunches for guests who have the higher suites. On HAL they have a special cocktail party the first night and then a "Suite" luncheon. Again, this is for not all who have suites just the highest two categories. Also, do you know of any suite categories that have free laundry?

Again, thank you.

happy to help...

Nothing was free..We were in an RS for a 12 night Europe cruise last May.

There was a few special invitations- a small cocktail party (mid day)..a tour of the kitchen I think.. nothing we took advantage of as we traveled with 2 children... But they were nothing really special that a non suite pax probably couldnt finagle.

The "best" perk was the specialty restaurant was reserved only for suite pax on night #1.... so you were guaranteed a table. (not that we ended up ever having a problem on our sailing and we ate there 3x)

The favorite thing we used the butler for was dinner on our veranda sailing out of France. That was a nice touch.

We did get invited to the Captain's table one evening- but it was hosted by the head of Guest Relations (Who was wonderful).. but I think that was more because we had a flood in our room that required extensive repairs (think removing the walls...) than the fact that we were in an RS.

I LOVE butler service.. and wish all RCCLs ships had it... but the additional perks really arent there.

We were in a Royal Suite back in November for 12 nights on the Mercury, and we did get the Elite Coupons as a VIP Suite guest. These are the coupons that Elites get for 90 minutes of internet free per guest, and a bag of laundry (30 pieces per bag per guest), and a couple of other things like match plays in the casino.

This was our second time in a Royal Suite...have done Sky Suites too...but this last time we really felt like VIP's...all the behind the scene type tours, dinner with the Captain, and amazing butler service.....our Butler even saw to it that we had a better table at dinner when our original table wasn't to our dinner companion's liking (I think THIS was what got us our invitation to dine with the Captain!)

Our last cruise in a RS on the Mercury was our best cruise EVER!

Take Care,

Jaime

We sailed in the Penthouse on the Mercury (same cruise as Angelpug) and we had the same butler, Richard. He was, as Jaime indicates, top notch. We had 3 separate cocktail parties in our suite and Richard set up very nice platters of shrimp, cheese, etc. (complimentary).

And, Jaime, let me hijack this thread for a moment to explain the dinner snafu....since you've made reference to it and me in a few different threads. (I guess you have me to thank for you getting invited to the Captain's Table!!)

I was traveling in a group of 13 passengers - you and your husband were traveling as 2 passengers. We both used the same travel agent - BUT we were not traveling together and not part of the same "group". The travel agent was lazy and did not submit the dining requests to Celebrity properly....rather than having the 13 of us at one table, she had 5 of us plus you and your husband seated together (at a large table for 12) and the other 8 people in "my group" seated at a separate table behind us.

We knew that the dining was not done properly by 2 pm that afternoon. Naturally, the 13 of us wanted to sit together and Richard had visited Larry (the maitre'd doing the dining seating) in the afternoon to ask him to change the dining around as we were not all at the same table. Richard told me to go to dinner and Larry would have us all at one table. As soon as you and your husband left the dining room table, Larry came over to me and said that he would move you and your husband to a different table and then he would put all 13 of us (all friends and relatives) at the large table for 12 beginning on the following evening.

So I'm sorry that you feel that the dining arrangements "wasn't to your dinner companion's liking".....you have your travel agent to thank for that. (Truth be told, the dining arrangements were not to 13 people's liking.....not just your dinner companion's).

Sorry for hijacking this thread.

On Infinity in a Celebrity Suite last November, we had the Captain's Club Elite voucher [including laundry] in addition to our Select vouchers. The two sets of vouchers covered all our laundry needs for 14 nights. We also had the same use of Michael's Club as Elites.

so if you are select but in a suite you got select plus elite coupons - what if you are elite - is it a double set of elite or as I suspect will be the case one set of elite only

We are hoping that we will get double Elite vouchers now we are Elite otherwise it would be a disadvantage to be Elite rather than Select.

That's correct, one set per person suite/elite. Also, you get the same set of coupons regardless of cruise length.

We where on a 14 day TA in a RS and are elite and received one set of coupons each. Honestly, that was enough, at least for us. We had internet hours left over and plenty of clean clothes when we got back.

Hi Janice!

I DID talk to my TA when I got home, and we were to be seated on HER list that she sent to Celebrity with the additional 3 people that was NOT part of your group at a larger table (We always ask for a table for 8...and we did again!) It was sent as TWO groups...YOUR larger group, and the 5 of us NOT part of your group as the other group.

Your group was sent by her to Celebrity exactly as you arranged it! After 10 cruises with her, and NO snafus, I know that Celebrity dropped the ball on this, assuming we ALL were one group and it would be okay. It would normally have been a correct assumption, as I've been on group cruises with her, and she's had to go and rearrange tables before after Celebrity took it upon themselves to rearrange them after she sends who she needs to be seated with whom within the group. But obviously not this time, and it was Celebrity that needed to fix the situation after screwing things up...which they did in a timely fashion, and we ALL appreciated after they did so!:) Even after a long talk with our WONDERFUL Butler, Social Hostess, and Restaurant Manager....they even came to the realization that the group in Miami that makes up the seating assignments probably DID do this on their own, thinking they had a better way to keep the GROUP together (2 tables instead of 3)....not knowing that 5 of us we most definitley NOT part of the group.

Since you had the reservation numbers for everyone involved in your group...why didn't you cross reference everyone's in your online check in? This is what we've done on previous cruises with Celebrity, and only THOSE reservation numbers with us were at our table. I think this would have helped the group in Miami doing table assignments if it was already in your own reservations who you wanted to be seated with.

We really enjoyed our table for two after trying it for the first time on our last cruise, and it's now in our records with our TA that we want that from now on, and I know we'll get it!:D We have YOU to thank for it, and I'm happy with the way everything turned out for us...it was our BEST cruise EVER!!!

Take Care,

Jaime

That is weird then that people who are select get the select set and the suite set so effectively have a higher laundry allowance. As we are travelling on an extended break, extra laundry would have been welcome and the 180 internet mins will, based on previous useage not be enough ( we do have to continue to support some work activities on line to allow us this extended break)

Lets see how it all pans out onboard

We were "Select" in a Royal Suite, and only got the Elite coupons....no extras!
