mtchg Posted January 21, 2010 #1 Posted January 21, 2010 ...or your most memorable? Out of 19 cruises; for me it has to be the beautiful, plush and classy Safari Lounge on the Jewel OTS. Stunningly lovely; much like the ship itself. How about you?
Aquahound Posted January 21, 2010 #2 Posted January 21, 2010 Like you, on Radiance Class, my favorite is the Safari Lounge (Colony Club). On Vision Class, it is the Schooner Bar. On Voyager/Freedom Class, it is the Viking Crown.
lcguy Posted January 21, 2010 #3 Posted January 21, 2010 Like you, on Radiance Class, my favorite is the Safari Lounge (Colony Club). On Vision Class, it is the Schooner Bar. On Voyager/Freedom Class, it is the Viking Crown. I'm with the hound... As for general public area? Solarium. :D
uksimonusa Posted January 21, 2010 #4 Posted January 21, 2010 For me it used to be the English pub on Voyager and Freedom class ships, but since the smoking change i don't have a favorite:(
philnpen Posted January 21, 2010 #5 Posted January 21, 2010 The Viking Crown Lounge, especially on sail-away.
Badly Drawn Boy Posted January 21, 2010 #6 Posted January 21, 2010 ...or your most memorable? Out of 19 cruises; for me it has to be the beautiful, plush and classy Safari Lounge on the Jewel OTS. Puffinater Posted January 21, 2010 #7 Posted January 21, 2010 On all classes it is the Champagne Bar followed by Bolero's.
amybeth4 Posted January 21, 2010 #8 Posted January 21, 2010 Each like-named lounge is so different on each class, it amazes me. Bolero's is just right there in the centrum on the Liberty, but is a full-on lounge on the Majesty. I HATED the Schooner Bar on the Majesty but the one on the Grandeur/Enchantment is my favorite lounge of all. (I've only been on three classes of ship so it's hard to be objective...apparently I'm missing out on something, having never seen the Safari lounge.) I LOVE the Viking Crown Lounge on any ship at night!
mtchg Posted January 21, 2010 Author #9 Posted January 21, 2010 I do like that RCI keeps certain labels on all of their ships. (You can count on the Windjammer, Schooner Bar, Crown Lounge..) Carnival does not do that. it's like coming home to an old friend even if it's a ship you haven't been on yet. Mitch
KITKAT0229 Posted January 21, 2010 #10 Posted January 21, 2010 The Solarium on the Rhapsody was my favorite spot even though the pool was closed our entire cruise. I really liked to go there at night and relax.
bluegirlum Posted January 21, 2010 #11 Posted January 21, 2010 Schooner Bar on Enchantment. I can't remember anything about that ship except for the Schooner Bar. Maybe because I spent too much time there? :D
emilygrace Posted January 21, 2010 #12 Posted January 21, 2010 Safari Lounge/Colony Club on the Radiance class ships, by far. On Monarch it was Boleros.
tahoemc Posted January 21, 2010 #13 Posted January 21, 2010 On Voyager class, I like the Schooner Bar best. Next would be the Solarium, then the Viking Crown bars. The Schooner Bar on the Monarck was also a favorite.
Happy ks Posted January 21, 2010 #14 Posted January 21, 2010 Years ago, we loved the Boleros on Monarch, as well as the Viking Crown Lounge. We liked the Wigh and Gavel on Mariner, especially when there were no smokers in there. We'd just move outside if some did come in. I just read it is being turned into a non-smoking venue...Yea! We'll spend a few hours there in April! Any solarium also has my vote.
kpatrick0712 Posted January 22, 2010 #15 Posted January 22, 2010 Navigator - Two Poets Pub Freedom - Schooner Bar Oasis -- not sure what that will be yet but am sad that it will not be the Pub since they have turned it into a smoking bar (I don't have anything against smokers but husband has horrible allergies and that will start them up) and like most -- my fave place is the Solarium!! nice and quiet. my favorite place to go when the kids are off playing at Adventure Ocean in the afternoon My fave place w/kids in the a.m. is on Freedom at the H20 Zone
derbeedler Posted January 22, 2010 #16 Posted January 22, 2010 The Solarium on Mariner (voyager-class) Rich :D
Mango Tango Posted January 22, 2010 #17 Posted January 22, 2010 Another vote for the Safari Club on the Jewel.
KruzinKat Posted January 22, 2010 #20 Posted January 22, 2010 One can always count on the Schooner Bar regardless of the ship.
Sunkissed Mommy Posted January 22, 2010 #21 Posted January 22, 2010 Favorite- The Enchantment Solarium was wonderfully relaxing for us! The Solarium on the Jewel was unique, but a madhouse on my last trip!! I guess they all differ. Is it true that on the newer ships the solarium is no longer an indoor pool area??!!?? ...Disappointing if true.
CalGal777 Posted January 22, 2010 #22 Posted January 22, 2010 No matter which ship the Schooners bar is my hangout

aloha of the seas Posted January 22, 2010 #24 Posted January 22, 2010 I have noticed that very few people have been able to commit to just one room or lounge. It is a diificult choice. I spend most of my time in the Schooner Bar, although I find the Schooner Bars on the larger ships less intimate than the Vision Class ships. When it comes to out right style, noyhing beats the Colony Club on the Radiance Class ships. Finally there is no better place to be for sailaway than the Viking Crowne Lounge. Amongst the hustle and bustle of the day it is a relaxing place with beautiful vistas. So yes, a difficult choice.
digital_curator Posted January 22, 2010 #25 Posted January 22, 2010 It is a hard decision- so many choices on RCI ships. On the Serenade, we loved the Champagne Bar for pre-dinner drinks: they had hot hors d'oeuvres and the BEST views of the sea. But after dinner, when it was dark, I really enjoyed the cozy Safari Club and the amazing pool tables. On the Voyager and Freedom class ships, we spent more time in Boleros (love those mojitos). Really loved the one on the Explorer (I think), which had an aquarium. I do wish this bar was larger and more separate from the walkway- I think we will LOVE it on the Oasis. My husband, who is a beer drinker, loves the pubs and we really liked the entertainment in there. I also really like the Viking Crown lounge but on many cruises we have been on, it has been co-opted for the Diamond Lounge, which is a shame for us lowly Platinums. Cheers,
