Just back from Explorer...

Recommended Posts

We did the Golden Eagle Catamaran tour.

It was fun, however, the seas going out were VERY rough. I mean VERY...and I'm not a wimp. There were quite a few people sick. The front of the catamaran was up and down probably about 15 feet...so if you don't have your "sealegs", it might not be the excursion for you. Also, the snorkeling wasn't that great. The rough seas caused the water to be cloudy and the waves were pounding the reef so badly, you couldn't really get that close.

With that being said...we DID have a great time, the water was warm, the beach was great and the open bar was good.

Hope that helps!

Also, one strange factoid: Drink prices varied based upon where you were on the ship. Beer was pretty standard (except in buckets, then the count/price varied) but a cosmopolitan at dinner was like $6, then the same drink at Dizzy's was over $8!!!

I just don't get it.

I just got back as well. Lunch menu was kind of tiring...we ate in windjammer more often than we normally would have. the two days we ate in the dining room for lunch the specials were pot roast and salmon.

review will be coming soon icon_smile.gif

The lunch menu IS nearly the same everyday, however it's still more relaxing than fighting the crowds in the Windjammer...

We didn't eat at Portofino's, however, I did hear that it was very good.
