intrepid23 Posted March 24, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2010 We are travelling on the Deliziosa (Dubai to Savona in May) and have a few questions 1) Cost of laundry/dry cleaning - does anyone know individual item costs and/or is there a 'bag' price? 2) We have purchased the X1 package however would like to know other drink prices from bars. Is there a 'cocktail of the day'? Is there a ' happy hour'? What was the price of expresso? beer? wine by the glass? 3) What were the opening hours of the buffet at lunch and dinner? What time was the main sitting at dinner in the restaurant? 4) What was the fitness centre like? Does it have daily classes and what are the costs if any? 5) Feedback on the library? 6) Any other tips about how to make the most of our experience on this ship? Thank you
BrucieNB Posted March 24, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 24, 2010 I just returned from the ship, but can't answer all your questions.... Laundry - we didn't use it. Drinks - we took J2. There is a cocktail of the day at about 5 euros. I'm a cocktail freak so really didn't like the Deliziosa attempts at cocktails, so we stuck to Prosecco and soft drinks mostly. At the bar, Prosecco was 4.70 euros per flute, wine was 4.20 per glass, champagne was 9 euros per flute, cappuccino was 2 euros per cup, soft drinks 2.60 euros, normal cocktails 6.25 euros. J2 covered bland wine at the Albatros restaurant, and mineral water. Opening times Muscadins self service 7am-10am, 11.30-4pm, 7pm-8.30pm Albatros 7.30-9.15, 12-1.30pm, first sitting 6.15pm, second sitting 9pm Fitness centre - no idea Library - no idea Taking advantage of the trip This will depend on individuals. We thought the organised excursions were good value - we did the cheap 4 hour ones as we wanted rest time on the ship. Muscat and Abu Dhabi are good. We liked the wi-fi and a laptop/netbook is definitely a bonus if you can take one - even if just to check in for the return flight. The Internet facilities otherwise were not well regarded by fellow passengers. We liked first sitting for dinner. Overall we really enjoyed our cruise. The food was not up to scratch for us, and the entertainment not to our taste [too frenetic] - except the night the crew performed and that was really good. H-Dogg Posted April 3, 2010 #7 Share Posted April 3, 2010 X1 good choice and vaalue for money. at lunchtime try and use different bar waiters as they are reluctant to come back if they ain't getting a service charge!! With X1 service charge is paid upfront so you don't get stung each time you by an already overpriced drink!!
cabncruzr Posted April 7, 2010 #8 Share Posted April 7, 2010 Hi...traveling on that ship in May. What are the costs to access Wi-Fi? Thanks.
BrucieNB Posted April 7, 2010 #9 Share Posted April 7, 2010 What are the costs to access Wi-Fi? We paid 24 euros for each 3 hours, plus 3 euros initial setup fee. In total 99 euros for a 7 day cruise, or around 13 euros per day. We used our netbook extensively on board and considered it well worth while. In comparison, at Atlantis the Palm, the cost was 70 Dhirams per 24 hours, which is around 14 euros per day at today's rates. Seems about the going rate, if things are pro-rated, and at our level of usage.
