ocdb8r Posted March 25, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2010 So, we are taking the Sapphire Princess next week and our TA told us not to board until 2pm or we will wait in line. One of our group is Platinum and gets preffered check-in but I don't know what time we should go...We have done NCL the last few years and are always on by noon. We like to get on early, have lunch and relax by the pool before the cabins open up. What time would y'all head over to the cruise terminal? Jasperdo Posted March 25, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2010 When we were on the Sapphire last year, we got to the terminal at 10:30AM and were on the ship by 11:30AM. Of course, this can vary from cruise to cruise. But we always arrive for a cruise around 10:30AM, and are usually onboard by noon.
paul929207 Posted March 25, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2010 Princess usually begins checkin 10:30 or so and boarding 11:30 or so. Also, on Princess the cabins will be ready when you board, so you can go straight there and dump the carryon.
ocdb8r Posted March 25, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted March 25, 2010 Excellent! Thanks for the quick responses... Can anyone tell me if there is plain old Iced coffee available on board. Not blended drinks...wondering if it is widely available or if I will need to get a coffee card.
lovevacadays Posted March 26, 2010 #5 Share Posted March 26, 2010 Not sure about iced coffee but just wanted to wish you a lovely time on the Sapphire and in the Mexican Riviera
Carol & Jim Posted March 26, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 26, 2010 We were on the March 13th sailing, got to the pier around 10:30 and had to wait until around 11:30 to board. Not too bad. If you're Platinum or Elite you get juice and coffee, whoopee!
katybugg Posted March 26, 2010 #7 Share Posted March 26, 2010 When will you be on the Sapphire? I will be cruising on 4/3 on the Sapphire.
rdsqrl Posted March 26, 2010 #8 Share Posted March 26, 2010 That TA's awfully free and easy with your vacation hours! Boarding begins by noon; under normal circumstances, I can't imagine any line that would take over two hours to get on the ship. Meanwhile, you're paying for that first day. Get there early! There's lots of coffee and lots of ice, so you can easily make your own iced coffee. I'll do with with tea bags on occasion, as a break from the crappy iced tea mix they use. Princess Patches Posted March 26, 2010 #9 Share Posted March 26, 2010 I sailed on the Sapphire last month. They started boarding the platinums and elites at 11:20 a.m. and we were on board by the ship at 11:30 a.m. Go early! Don't listen to your TA.
