Orpington and Silkismom-

So nice to hear from you both. My mom and I were speaking this morning and were hoping to get some details. Glad that Regent looked after you well. Like you, my only criticism was the lack of information provided and the sense that they really wanted us off the ship as fast as possible. However, we also just heard from folks who decided to stay on for the next cruise. Its too bad that such a wonderful trip ended with a bit of chaos but most are now home safe and sound.

I hope our paths will cross again.

Thanks to all you 'returnees' for posting. Had we not disembarked in Monte Carlo we would have faced the same challenges and chaos. Although we don't know any of you we feel like we do. We've worried and wondered and fretted - called our wonderful TA several times to inquire since she writes so much Regent. She made phone calls and tried to keep us informed. At church this morning we were asked numerous times if "all those Mariner folks" made it home. Maybe our paths will cross one day. We sail Feb 19 on the Mariner . . . . .

Hello everyone! we are finally back at home and it was an absolute pleasure meeting everyone... we got out on friday morning and the flights were on time and as usual Lufthansa gave our seats away and we had to sit in the middle aisle for 8 hours. But it was worth it to get a flight anyway.

Regent was fantastic and we used our regent agents for tours around these new cities we were stranded in and made the best of it. We even became so local that we bought fresh vegetables, fruit, bread, olives at the market then had lunch in the square. At the end of the day we had a buffet happy hour with everything we bought. It was kind of funny.... we were stranded and totally made the best of it with two other couples who we will remain friends forever. Its really funny.... we never met them on the ship but were with them for the entire week and had the best time...... as one of our friends said and I will quote.... " when life hands you lemons; you make limoncello"

I will have more to say soon; I just have to get myself together and we will talk.

miss everyone!

dougxfresh,

great to hear you too are safely home; isn't it neat the folks you meet along the way? our very first experience with Regent (then Radisson) was 11 years ago; on our way to the Paul Gaugin the AOM folks decided to strike; we flew Atlanta to LAX with a 7 year old; the airport was a zoo, there were protesters and angry, angry folks at many of the gates; Regent (Radisson) had 2 burly escorts meet us and the 8 other passengers on our flight needing to reach Tahiti; we were literally driven behind the scenes and boarded quietly and privately; when the remainder of the plane was boarded we received some eyebrows but Regent took care of us - that was when we became hooked:) only home 2+ weeks and already booked Buenos Aires for Feb 19!
