Lorey2007 Posted April 20, 2010 #26 Share Posted April 20, 2010 Is the Marriott Stellaris right on the beach? Or is it a short distance away from the hotel? It's right on the beach. Check out the photo's from their website. I'm so excited I got it I want to go right now! http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/sjupr-san-juan-marriott-resort-and-stellaris-casino/

Nessa1dc Posted April 21, 2010 #28 Share Posted April 21, 2010 I used priceline for our hotel in San Juan too...we needed a total of 6 rooms...I got 5 at different times and we were able to all get the Marriott San Juan and Stellaris Casino as well. I have one more girlfriend who needs to get a room, I hope she gets the Marriott too. We bid $120 per night...we are staying 2 nights before our cruise in December. We live by Price-line for hotels. They did ask what area we wanted and we picked Condado. My question is: Do they charge taxes on top of what you paid to Priceline? In other words, when we check out will there be a Puerto Rico tax that we have to pay? I've gotten various responses.

If I am not mistaken, it is a percentage of your daily rate. I read on the CC board that it averages between 14% and 16%.

We are staying at the Marriott Stellaris in October. I will ask to have the fee waived if we are charged. Thanks for the tidbit!:D
