Hi All

Well where do you start!

Having never even seen a cruise this our first cruise was an adventure. To say the ship was huge was an understatement! First day or so we kept getting lost.

Room

We had an inside room on the rivera deck. Yes we had the drone of the engine but nothing which was to bad. Room was bigger than we expected, and our cabin steward kept it spotless and was ever so friendly.

Food

I thought the food was great with a wide range in both the dining room and buffet. Even could get something for the kids if they didnt like was on the menu. Service was excellent and atmosphere in dining room was terrific.

Entertainment

Many bars! Which because my dh got sick i did on my own. Normally would never go into a bar and plonk myself up at the bar on a bar stool but for some reason no problem. Meet heaps of great people this way and had a ball. The band in the Ven. Bar (cant remember the whole name) where truly brillant, larry the piano player in the piano bar was a major fun guy. Had two comedians, one was excellent the other smutty but no problem. Also had a singer doing motown which was absolutely brillant. Vegas type show was a little average but still okay.

Kids Club

We travelled with our 13 year old and found for him was not a great deal but he was still happy to just laze around like teenagers do. We did see the smaller kids with camp counsellors out and about and they seemed to be having a ball.

We had the best time, didnt see any kids running rampant, playing in elevators, stains or anything people occasionally whinge about. I suppose you go in expecting to have a great time and you do. Havent had so much fun in years.

That's the one we're going on too. How did embarkation and debarkation go? Any suggestions for what to do in St. Marteen and San Juan? We're a family group of seven, including our three kids (12, 8, 3 y.o.).

As for your 13 y.o., can you comment a little more about his opinion of the kids club, and what things he did/did not like on this ship? How were the pools and the slide?

Thanks!

Glad to hear you had a good time - but sorry your dh got sick!! My sister and her friend and I are cruising the Triumph April 2 (Western Caribbean). Plenty of time to get super-excited!!

Some questions - what did you think of the main dining room food? Do you get assigned to either the Paris or London rooms, and is one nicer than the other?? We sailed the Carnival Spirit last winter, and I thought the food was very good then.

Also, did you use the gym, and if so, can you tell me what it's like?

Do you have any pictures???
