Tee4Travel Posted May 3, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 3, 2010 An acquaintance said that the double doors do not shut out the noise. Anyone have experience with connecting cabins on Radiance of the Seas? Thanks! Tee
stewpapa Posted May 3, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 3, 2010 Had connecting doors on the Splendour of the Seas and on the Conquest. Our 3 teenage boys stayed in there. No noise and no problem.

Ashland Posted May 3, 2010 #10 Share Posted May 3, 2010 How lucky all the above posters have been..I however would not take the chance if there was something else available..Also just a feeling of a lack of privacy...JMHO...of course...If there was noise...which I have read about on these boards...many would not take the chance again..Good luck to you..Hope you're not back with a bad experience to tell ;)
Bakincakes Posted May 3, 2010 #11 Share Posted May 3, 2010 There have been pax who have said they did have some issues with a connecting. I guess it all depends upon who your neighbors are.
coffeegirl23 Posted May 3, 2010 #12 Share Posted May 3, 2010 Yes, we did have an issue - there was a six-month old baby in the connecting cabin next to us and woke us in the night crying. That was not good. I won't book connnecting again.
newcrew42 Posted May 3, 2010 #13 Share Posted May 3, 2010 We had connecting on our Voyager cruise in March. Our 12 & 14 year olds were in the connecting room. When the door was closed there was no noise whatsoever. I would keep the door open a smidge so I could hear the kids come and go. It was way too quiet with the door closed. It may just depend on who your neighbors are.
cruisinfanatic Posted May 3, 2010 #14 Share Posted May 3, 2010 was in a PR cabin on the Explorer and had connecting door. Never again!!!!!!!!!!!! Heard evey sound from the other cabin. We didn't get it through choice but because it was the cheapest price midship and with a balcony. It was the cabin suggested by our TA so we weren't taking it from someone who needs it!! BettyCruiser Posted May 3, 2010 #20 Share Posted May 3, 2010 We had a connecting promenade room on the Voyager and I thought a lot of noise came through the connecting door. I could almost clearly hear their conversations. I'm sure they could hear both of us snoring:o I will not by choice book a connecting room again. disneygoof Posted May 3, 2010 #22 Share Posted May 3, 2010 We have a connecting room in June and if the guys are too loud on the other side of the connecting door, I'll just open it and tell them to quiet down(they're my 2 teen boys :D)
Tee4Travel Posted May 4, 2010 Author #23 Share Posted May 4, 2010 Your varied comments--I appreciate every one of them!--have confirmed what we all know: The consideration of guests in neighboring cabins determines the noise (and subsequent enjoyment) of one's own cabin! For the 2009 Holiday Cruise on the Radiance, I had a lovely balcony cabin on Deck 9...unfortunately, neighbors were loud and/or sick during sleep hours and smoked on balcony during most daylight hours. It was not the two-week escape I had pictured! Just had to 'repaint' my canvas...;) T PS I do plan to check w/TA on possible change of cabin. Thanks to all! BoozinNCruisin Posted May 4, 2010 #25 Share Posted May 4, 2010 I have a connecting room in my upcoming Explorer Cruise, if there is a problem with loud neighbors and i complain to guest relations do you think they would move us to another inside cabin if one is available?
