judy&steve Posted February 1, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2005 Crowds -- Nothing more or less than previous cruises. People always congregate near the elevators after dinner or a show. Sometimes we would wait for emptier elevators, because Judy is a little claustrophic. Not an issue with us. Smoking -- Never any problems with people smoking in non-smoking areas. Never smelled any smoke. A big thumbs up for that! Customer Relations -- The BEST! I know people have been less than complimentary at times. Our bags did not make it to San Juan. We filed a claim with AA and then the greeter from RCI told me she would personally find our bags and put them on the ship. True to her word, our bags appeared at midnight with a note inside from this lovely young lady. The young man at the guest relations desk on the ship couldn't have been more gracious to us. Because we had purchased the insurance, we were told we could have use of a tux, formal wear, complimentary dry cleaning and $$ towards clothing. He was very nice to us and most helpful. Medical Facilities -- Judy hurt her neck and had to visit the infirmary. They were very efficient and the doctor was very knowledgable. She had a shot, a prescription, and was pain-free within hours! Again, thanks to the insurance, the doctor and meds will be covered. Food -- Judy has real dietary issues and was not so happy with the food, but that is par for the course for her. The waiter was unbelievable. She knew our names and likes and dislikes by the end of the first meal. We travel with friends and sit at a table for four. There was a large table next to us that had some really rowdy and loud people. We were going to ask to change tables, but were so thrilled with the waiter and her helper that we stayed where we were. Portofino -- The service was very good and that's about all. Food wasn't any better than the dining room, IMHO. Cancelled our second reservation for later in the week. Concierge -- Very helpful. The snacks and drinks before dinner were very welcome. We really didn't require too much of his time, but he was very nice to us when we had questions. Swimming Pools -- Adult-only pools were just that -- kid-free. --Steve
