What are they doing to the beautiful Noordam in this drydock? Why is it there?

I certainly hope they are not doing the unthinkable and moving the library to the crow's nest or ruining the ship by eliminating the aft pool for a wading puddle.

Hi Sally -

There isn't time in this dry-dock to do any major work like that. This is an impromptu dry-dock (one was scheduled for Jan 2011) after the charter for the World Cup housing was canceled.

There's no reason for either of these things to be done to the Noordam. Whatever those changes accomplished on the various ships, was already in place on the Noordam.

The library was moved on the other Vista ships to make way for high-end shops; those were on the Noordam from the beginning. The poolette on the Veendam and Rottedam raised the aft "pool" (such as it is) to the Lido Deck. It's already on Lido Deck on the Noordam.
