hi Catherine, we were on the Radiance 2 weeks ago for the Eastern Caribbean. Can you do me a favor and, while you're at dinner, ask your waiter if they know Trilok (India) and Tamer (Turkey, head waiter). My name is Stacy and I sat at table 542. Say hi for me, please!!???? Let me know. Have a great time!

Stacy

The CD is Gordon Whatman. Don't know anything about him yet.

You lucked out. Gordon must have just got on Sunday. We had Keith Williams last week. While the ships activities ran well, I did not find him entertaining at all.

We have internet in our room with our laptop and it has been quite fast. Much faster than I thought it would be. We are using broadband and not dial up.

Seattlelover: Went to meet Fredi tonight after dinner. He is now working in the Schooner Bar. He remembered you and Mr. Mark and seemed like a very nice person. We told him we would be back tomorrow to have a drink with him. He said ya'll were with him for almost every night for two weeks.

Tonight was the first formal night. I had filet mignon. Bob had duck. Both were very good. We did not go to the show after dinner, but listened to the music in the Centrum by Serenade trio. We enjoyed the music so much before dinner, we just returned after we ate.

Our room stewart is Aaron and he is very attentive and helpful to us.

Labadee tomorrow.

Your making me jealous. I wish I was still there. We had Aaron last week and he was awesome. One of the best we have had. Are you in the 1500 block of rooms on deck 10?

Also, how did you get broadband internet? As far as I knew dial up was the only option and it was slow. They gave us a small cable to conect the laptop modem to the data port in the room when we signed up.

We are in cabin 1552.

I am not sure how we got broadband. They also gave us a small cable when we signed up, but we are signing on through their system, then connecting to our AOL broadband. We had thought it would be dial-up, but this is as fast as it is at home. Catherine

The high today is in the low 70's. Some people are around the pools in their swim suits. I felt like a needed a sweater. Very windy.

The casino does have three card poker. One table. We watched for a while. Still don't understand the rules.

The Schooner Bar has NO smoking tables. We walked through and every table has a no smoking sign on it. The Colony Club, right beside the Schooner Bar has a smoking section.

We went to the wine tasting this afternoon after Bob lost in his first round of blackjact. The wine tasting was fun.

The captain is Darin Bowland. He was on our first RC cruise on the Grandeur several years ago. The CD is Gordon Whatman. Don't know anything about him yet.

CMOG:

Thank you so much. I hope you have a fabulous time. I am due to go to Vegas in June for a week. That used to be my spot, but, I'm losing my mind in anticipation for our cruise in December. It's driving me crazy:eek: .

Have a great vacation.

We were in 1542. On the internet connection, did you use the cable they gave you or did you just plug your own network cable into the wall and it worked?

I will have to let Bob answer this when he will. I do not know all that much about the workings of computers. I do know that we used the cable we received when we signed up for the connection in our cabin. Hopefully I can get him to sit down and answer this soon. I am still trying to get him to attach our pictures here. He is just so carried away with being able to sent pictures to people at home. He has been able to im his paralegal all day and is now trying to drive her crazy with fab pictures. Off to lunch.

No, he is not using blackberry. He used the cable and instructions given to us by Radiance. Got on line using Cyber cabin and then went to AOL though our AOL connection. When we are going into cyber cabin, it dials, you can hear the dialing. Then we went into our broadband. It is as fast as it is at home.

Catherine....Thanks again for the info. I don't understand about going into your AOL broadband but I will tell hubby about it and maybe he understands. (Since he is the one that will be using the laptop for business.) Hope you are having a great time.

The Radiance is my favourite- sailed on her 2 times!!! You are so incredibly fortunate to have Gordon Whatman as your Cruise Director! he is retiring after this contract as he has lined up a show I believe in Vegas! When I was on they did not do the Survivor, however they still had all the other activities...bingo, quest, horseracing, belly flops, love and marriage, etc....

Nessa1dc- do you know who the Assistant cruise director is... the one hosting all the bingo sessions? Would you be able to find out? thanks!

Catherine,

Thanks very much for saying hi to Fredi from us :D I wonder why he is no longer working in the Champagne Bar? And yes, were we at the bar with him most evenings for 2 weeks! My, what a lot of champagne was drunk! :D

I do not know who the assistant cd is. We have not been to any bingo games. we were in the colony club yesterday, i think when they were starting a bingo and the person in charge was a blond female. i will find out who she is.

The games so far have been battle of the sexes, bingo(of course), men's bellyflop, love and marriage, win, lose or draw, and tonight is majority rules. some of them i had not heard of before, but it has been about two years since we were on a rc ship.

we are doing the murder mystery tonight. i am very excited about this. i love murder mysterys and have always wanted to do one of these. will let you know about it tomorrow.

Also, tomorrow night is the c&a repeaters party. i will try to get some of the questions answered there - like when is gordon's tour ending.

Sailing from ocho rios now - ocean and the setting sun! I'm going out on the balcony and away from this computer. Have I lost my mind????

right that question was meant for Catherine-oops!

Heard from Gordom himself as well as from several RCI employees. He is supposed to be retiring in April/May... so this would be his last contract.... Isn't it sad!????

Catherine-

Or if anyone knows who the Asst. cruise director is- would you mind passing along that info? Thanks!

Hi If your hubby has time, my hubby would like him to go to http://www.dslreports.com and run a test. He is really interested as we are sailing on Radiance in May. On our last trip on the Radiance....staff talked us out of internet for laptop. They said it was too slow and we would be upset. We are just wondering if we should bring laptop or just use internet cafe. If they have upgraded I would be very interested. Thanks in case your hubby can find a minute or two to do this for us.

Catherine,

Glad to hear you're enjoying your cruise and thanks again for taking the time while on vacation to get us all the answers to our questions.

I was wondering at what time the games like love and marriage, win, lose or draw, and majority rules starts. If we are on second seating will we be able to make those activities? Also, my family is into trivia, have they had any either during the day or in the evening?

If possible during the C&A repeaters party see if you can get any answers to when the cabin layouts will be out or any information for the Freedom of the Seas. They are keeping everything such a big secret and bookings open up in about two weeks.

Thanks and continue to enjoy...... :)
