Is the Pinnacle open on port days for lunch?

I'm thinking about taking the Hawaiian cruise over Christmas on the Zaandam. Some of my family lives in Honolulu, and we'll be docking there on Christmas day! I thought it would be fun to have them come aboard for Christmas lunch, especially if the Pinnacle is open.

 

I know there's lots of work to do to get them cleared to board. I think I've got the information I need on what's necessary. And I've read on these boards that folks have done it before.

 

Any information you might have would be helpful.

The PG is open for lunch on some port days, but not all. That ship, on that day, I wouldn't know. :)

It is hard to tell if the Pinnacle will be open on that day. You won;t know until you get the Daily Program the night before.

On our recent 33 day Hawaii / South Pacific cruise, the Pinnacle Grill was not opened for lunch on port days

When you board, you can go to the Pinnacle Grill and ask the Maitre d' there if the Grill will be open that day. He will have the schedule. That will give you plenty of time to make plans for what you want to do that day.

You can even make a reservation right then and there, if they are scheduled to be open!

Just what I thought...won't know til I board. Guess it will be the same for the Main Dining Room. I'll just have to check with the Maitre D' when I board.

 

If it's just the Lido, I'll "let" my sister treat me to lunch on shore.:D

Actually the MDR may be closed but the Pinnacle might be open. It's been my experience that either one or the other is open. I don't like eating in the Lido so I try to avoid it atall costs.
