babebutters Posted July 24, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2010 Hello all, We were on the Inspiration out of Tampa July 17th - 22nd. We were finally able to do the Chef's Table and we recommend it highly. Here is the menu: Reception Ahi Tuna Tartar, Wasabi Crisp Duck Pot Sticker Steak Taco Avocado Cheesecake Menu Beef Carpaccio Parmigiano, Balsamico Gelee ~ Fried Calamari Charred Lime and Lemon Preserve ~ Fire Roasted Tomato and Poblano Chili Bisque Grilled Corn, Cilantro Drizzle ~ Chopped Mediterranean Salad Shaved Pumpkin, Feta Cheese Crumble ~ Fillet of Chilean Sea Bass Wine Stewed Shallot and Chives Vinaigrette, Leeks Emulsion, Peas Risotto ~ Aged Filet Mignon Onion Streusel, Homemade Three Pepper Mustard ~ Your Special Warm Chocolate Melting Cake With a Surprise from the Chef Our chef was Chef Jorg Schneider and he was the best part of a superlative meal. He met us at the lobby bar and then took us for a very interesting tour of the galley, where we were served the four items listed under reception. The galley tour was wonderful; as good as the galley portion of the Behind The Fun tour we did last year on the Imagination. After the tour, we went to the library for the meal. The service was outstanding! The cost of the dinner was $75 per person, and that included wine, either red or white. I had two or three glasses, so there apparently was no limit on the wine. The food was excellent and Chef Jorg gave a bit of commentary on each course. It was clear that he loves doing this. We all asked all kinds of questions, both about the meal and about the Carnival food operations in general. If you can, this is a must do! We had exactly the same menu on the Ecstasy in February and it was amazing!!! I was struck by the flavor and simplicity of the avocado cheese cake... brilliant! :)

ccruisequeen Posted April 26, 2013 #6 Share Posted April 26, 2013 Price must cover wine more than anything. Wonder if there's a discount for non-drinkers?

isaiahsnana Posted April 27, 2013 #8 Share Posted April 27, 2013 Yes, there is a new menu: http://zydecocruiser.net/menus/chefs_table.htm The food was amazing, we did the chef's table on the Magic In January and I have booked it again for my cruise in August. kml2000 Posted April 27, 2013 #11 Share Posted April 27, 2013 I want to do the Chef's table. However, I am waiting until my DD is 21 so can enjoy it with me. Maybe our next cruise. I do wish they had a non alcohol price bur understand the concept. Sounds great!
