Diamond and Anytime Dining

Recommended Posts

We just returned from the Feb 5 sailing and this was our dining experience:

1. When we arrived on board we were able to make reservations in one of the 4 restaurants for the first two nights only.

2. We were advised that if we called back in the morning we would be able to make reservations for the balance of the cruise which we did.

3. We had a table for 4 ( there were 4 of us) each night without any wait whatsoever! We ate at either 6:15 or 6:30 each night. The food was excellent and we enjoyed each of the different menus!!

4. The food in the Horizon Court was also good although we only had breakfast and or lunch there.

5. It was a very enjoyable cruise and experience.

Happy Cruising!!

The Diamond Anytime Dining is getting confusing. We were on the 1/15 sailing of the Diamond. Before leaving, I read some reviews that stated exactly as you did... first day- two reservations, next day- reserve the rest of the week.

When we were onboard, only one reservation could be made each morning for that night. Couldn't make two the first day and couldn't reserve the rest of the week at once.

It didn't matter, we never had a problem getting a reservation and ate at 6:30 every night.

I just wish there was a straight answer on how they were going to handle it.

I was wondering if any of you recent Diamond cruisers could recommend a certain waiter/staff? We are a large group of 12 who typically enjoy having traditional dinner times with the same staff every night, but it was booked. Did you run across an exceptional waiter? Names and dining room would really be helpful!

We leave March 12!

Pam:

we just returned from the Diamond last week. We received outstanding service from Ernesto in the Vivaldi dining room. He was really great. I would recommend him!

We found all of the service to be good, but his was the best.

Have a great trip!

We were also on the 2/5 Disembarkation cruise to Mexico. Anytime dining is great. Had reservations at 5:50 for a group of 8 everynight. Also went to the buffet for late night snack everynight and discovered that some of the food is the same on the menu on the other 4 restaurants with the exception of the lobster.

Nancy,

Thanks for the tip! We will give Ernesto a try. Anyone else have excellent dining service on the Diamond?

We sailed the Diamond the week of 1/22 and had excellent service from Virgil in Santa Fe -- we would definitely recommend giving him a try.
