Does anyone know if the requested info for the veteran cruise benfit can be "snail-mailed" and accomplish the same results as e-mail or faxing info? I am rather computer knowledge limited. Thank you.

Yes, it can. I do not know the mailing address.

A local store such as UPS store or Fedex-Kinkos can fax it for you for less than $5.

I have tried faxing and emailing my DH's DD214 this morning. Both times I've failed. The fax number 661-753-0151 doesn't work. The email shareholderbenefits@princesscruises.com came back undeliverable.

Please verify what fax number and email address was successful for you.

Go back a few posts to get all of the info & that's the fax number...don't forget to dial the number 1 first.

My husband is active duty and I just got off of the phone with reservations. They confirmed that after I submit a copy of his Military ID, sailing date, ship, booking number and names in cabin that we will be getting a $100.00 credit posted to our account for a 7 day cruise!

Instead of faxing the info you can also scan and e-mail to:

shareholderbenefit@princesscruises.com

Looks like I just got my Bungalow on Princess Cay. :)

Maybe try again...there is no "s" on benefit.:)

If you have a local bank, check with them about faxing it for you.. I take my documentation to my bank and they fax it for me. No charge, no questions, no problems.

We got the $250.00 On board credit. Here's what you do....Call Princess and request specifically the $250.00 Military Credit. They will give you the mailing address, send them copy of the booking,DD214,D.L. they will give you the credit. Just like that!!:D

It is not necessarily a $250 OBC for everyone - only $250 for cruises for (I believe) 14 days or longer.

Thank you Thank you to the Op and all who contrributed to how to con tact Lisa McDaniel and what documentation was needed. Cruise Critic members are so helpful. I got a response and onoard credit of $250 for our Hawaii cruise in February in less than 24 hours because I had all info together. Thank you Princess for honoring our present military and those who have served in the past.

I just phone Princess Customer Service. They were clueless about this program, and would not release a phone number for Yield Management. I am simply taking a shot in the dark and faxing the information (not sure exactly what is required for proof of service) to Yield Management. I'll let you know if anything comes of this.

It's great that Princess is doing this. It's exasperating that no one there seems to know about it.

I think it is luck of the draw on who you speak to. Just fax a copy of your military id, booking number, ship and sailing date and your e-mail address to the number listed on this thread. You will get a confirmation from Liza within 24 hours if you qualify.

Having never received OBC before for anything..DH does have this one after 20 yrs in Navy..as someone did say that even though it states for no charges/gratuities on the ship--that they cannot tell what it is used for, my question is--has anyone used this yet & were they able to use for charges? The reason I ask is EVERYTHING is charged--I thought we could use it for a special night at one of the restaurants?? Even shoppingat the stores would be charges.

The OBC is on your cabin account when you board. Basically it is a negative balance.

Anything charged to your account eats away at that negative balance until you start to owe Princess.

So, it is only in your own mind which of the charges are really free due to the OBC. If you want to say that it was used for a special night in a restaurant that you would not have done otherwise, then indeed it was used for that purpose even though it will not appear that way on the cabin statement.

An early post said the OBC could not be used for the casino or tips. I could understand not for the casino but why not for tips.

I'm a couple weeks away from using mine & don't use the casino...anyone used it yet???

As Carnival, the owners of Princess, is both a US (Corp) and a British ( PLC ) company it might have been fair for British military to have been included.

It does seem to be terribly unfair. Defending your country and trying to protect the world against international terrorism would only appear to mean anything to Princess, a British public limited company, if you are a member of the American or Canadian military.

Shame on Princess! :(

Think about it...if you use it for tips, your $100 credit goes from "Princess'" pocket, to "your" pocket, to the "tip jar". If you use it in a restaurant or Spa, it is probably only $25 (or whatever) out of "Princess'" pocket as a meal or spa treatment which you pay $100 for obviously does not cost Princess $100. Simple math! They're not in the business of giving money away!

As Caribill said, OBC from your TA, Princess Stock, Military Service, or from future cruise bookings or however you receive your OBC, all go on your ship board account in one lump sum. You can get a copy of your ship board account when you board the ship to see all the OBC you have. Then anything charged against your account is deducted from the total OBC that you have received. Your tips/gratuties are deducted daily from the amount of OBC while other charges come off on the day you "buy" whatever. It doesn't matter what is charged, tips/coffee cards/specialty dining/boutique shoping/etc, it will come off against your total OBC reflected on you ship board account.

Thanks, I was aware about "how it's suppose to work" but without reading all of these pages again, was wondering if anyone had experienced a restriction. I would think that each type of OBC has a different code which may limit it's usage based on what the earlier post said. That info could be accurate for casino credits (something I never do) & attempting to determine if it's prohibited for anyone considering to use military OBC for the casino...or whether any type of OBC can be used for gambling?
