Recommended Posts

Hi,

Last time, (but 2 years ago) shampoo and soap. Probably need your own conditioner and body lotion!

Thanks Kim, All these little questions keep popping-up, it's great to have a place like this where you can get some answers. Here's another one: Hypothetically speaking of course, if you were going to bring some alcohol on board in your luggage, would you pack it at home or buy it in Lisbon?:D

The usual tolitries that you would find in a good hotel are provided

NO you do not need to bring a dinner jacket and we have very seldom seen any man wearing. It would be ok if that is what you like to do but dockers and a nice shirt at dinner is the most that is expected. The ships are very nice but this is not a foo-foo cruise line

the rules state that you cannot bring your own alcohol and if you do you are suppose to give to bartender (that doesn't mean that people don't). I would suppose that there would be some corking charge but I do not know. Carrying aboard airplane on carry on is not a possibility anymore so stowing in luggage to us is more of a pain then it is worth. They have a good selection of wines, liquors and beer aboard. You can order a bottle of wine for dinner and if you do not drink it all they will cork and save for you.

If you like port, buy it in Lisbon. We took a bottle transatlantic last fall that we bought in a little shop in Lisbon the day we sailed - it was a delicious evening treat!:):):) Wish we'd bought two.

We are just back from a vantage charter of the Royal Clipper. Rooms had shampoo but no conditioner.

Most/many wore a Blazer to the Captains dinner.

In a word.....no. That's the great thing out SC. It's not pretentious at all. The Captain won't have a jacket on either...he will be in his whites. Of course, if they have put a female Capt. aboard, all bets are off:D
