Best Balconies on Island Princess?

Trying to book 3 cabins on the Island Princess for Alaska in June 2011. We were almost ready to pull the trigger on BB's and then found out that they don't have BB's on Caribe deck. The deck plans on Island are different than most other ships apparently.

So if we want oversize Caribe balconies, are the BA's our only option? Are the "regular" balcony cabins good enough for Alaska (considering you won't be out there sunning like on a Caribbean vacation)?

Trying to make our decision today so we can get this booked. Thanks for any advice, CC'ers are the best!

Look seriously at the cat BEs at the aft end of Emerald deck. They have the large 9x9 verandas and better still, have extra tall headroom and are fully covered because they're built into the ship structure. Some of them have a steel bulkhead in between so look carefully at pictures, if you want to be able to walk between verandas. But IMO they're the best value veranda cabins on Island/Coral.

Also check out the four BDs (D418, D419, D501, and D502) on Dolphin...in between full suites and minis....balconies are 7x9, 3/4 covered, and midship, lots of bang for your buck. I already have mine booked for panama! If you are doing Glacier Bay, get portside (you want it for the cold morning!)
