WellShoneMoon Posted December 14, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 14, 2010 I have been searching this board and Googling in general for a while now without finding the information I need, so I thought I'd just come out and ask: We'll be sailing on Freedom of the Seas on January 9, 2011, and we will have a balcony room for the first time. We'd like to have happy hour on our balcony before dinner in the evening. (I'm talking about Scotch and vodka, not wine or beer, and I'm talking about one drink each per day.) Do I have to go to a bar to get the drinks and bring them back to the room? Will room service deliver hard liquor drinks? Are these drinks already available in a mini-bar in the room? Thanks! LakerVA Posted December 14, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 14, 2010 You can order from Room service or pick up from a bar. There is no alcohol in the minibars. WellShoneMoon Posted December 14, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted December 14, 2010 I should have come to you first, instead of wasting time in fruitless Googling ... :)
storm1of4 Posted December 14, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 14, 2010 Or you can smuggle it like most people do.
cb at sea Posted December 14, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 14, 2010 While you're not supposed to bring your own liquor aboard, they don't care WHERE you drink, as long as you buy it "by the drink" from them.
mickey001 Posted December 14, 2010 #6 Share Posted December 14, 2010 ....And apparently they care about how much you buy at at time. I've being trying to send a bottle of Vodka to a friends cabin for their holiday cruise. I know they would enjoy having a nightcap on their balconey and mabe a drink while getting ready for dinner. I couldn't find anything on the website, so I emailed RCCL asking specifically how I could order a bottle of vodka for a going away gift in the cabin. They said no problem and gave me a number to call. When I called it became a problem. They will not let you have a bottle of "hard liquor" in the room because "their would be no way to monitor it"
pltag Posted December 14, 2010 #7 Share Posted December 14, 2010 RCI used to have a liquor store on-board where you could buy bottles and take them back to your cabin ......... ahhh, the good ol' days! :D :D
