Platinum door decorations

I always decorate our cabin door with the theme of where we're going, but I'm getting ready for my 1st platinum cruise. And I need ideas of what I can decorate my door with for my 1st platinum cruise. I'm going to use silver as the color since it's the same color as platinum (or close enough).

Right now I'm leaning toward huge silver bows (plentiful now at Christmas time) and stars I can write things on.

Any ideas would be great!!

I was also thinking of making a Platinum corsage to wear on embarkation day with ribbon, etc. I know that sounds crazy, but I've waited a long time to finally make it to platinum and I'm going to celebrate!!!

If you have any pictures of platinum decorated doors or any input would be helpful.

Thanks!

I've decorated our last 5 or 6 doors over the years. I saw someone else do it and it was so festive, I had to start. We get lots of comments from others how great it looks and it helps them find their cabins late at nt after a few drinks in the bar lol. I'll post some pics soon of some of our cabin doors. Like I said we aim it to fit what countries we're going to whether caribbean or mexico. We just did a halloween cruise and someone even left us some candy at our door since we had it decorated. This one I want to do in all silver/Platinum. I'm a sucker for decorations that's why I get excited:) I also scrapbook and am trying to come up with ideas for a couple platinum scrapbook pages.

I'll keep the thread posted of what I come up with, but please still leave some ideas!!

At our local Dollar Tree they have they huge Silver christmas bows for gifts and I thought about buying a few of those to put on the door, but then I have to make sure they don't get squashed in my stuff. I'll have to carry them on.

You should go as a Platinum Blonde, treat yourself first! :)

Hey that's a good idea! I can get a platinum blonde wig & silver shirt to wear with my corsage for my embarkation pic. That would be hilarious!!! Thanks for the idea!

You can have Carnival decorate your cabin with a birthday theme for your mom, I think it's $35. Or you can send mom out of the cabin for a few minutes and decorate the cabin yourself. We also decorate our cabin if it's our birthdays, it's just a fun thing to do. You can get cheap banners at the dollar store that says happy birthday, etc. I bet she would love the surprise. You could also decorate the door half birthday half platinum. Just a thought!

Don't forget to take the wig off before they take your picture for your Sign and Sail. Otherwise you'll have to wear it each time to get back on the ship...lol

I'm soooooooooo excited about it!! :D Just can't wait to get the the terminnal to check in and have them hand me that shiny platinum card!! :D It'll probably be the best feeling in the world!! It took me about 8 years to get to Platinum so I'm going to really enjoy this 1st cruise with that card!! :D

I usually wait till the ships at sail a few hours later.

Being platinum a while now, and learning that people get pissed when you get in the special line .

Just not worth the hassle, tired of hearing all the stiff lips shouting " Hay Axhole the lines starts behind me " .

Makes me think Carnival wants their platinum members to get badgered ,hoping we will just disappear .

I love the 10 star idea! We will also be platinum on Thursday (Dream). Never thought of doing anything "special" except the Steakhouse this cruise. Looking forward to VIP boarding/free laundry/free slot-blackjack tourny entry. Go for whatever makes you feel good - whether it be the wig, (make sure you add a boa!) door decorations, t shirt - do it. You've earned it!:D

..thatz a great idea..but if you want to "cutout" bigger ones...buy the plastic or paper "plates", draw the star on the backside, and cut out. you can write on the silverside. You can cut letters also..ie: 10th, your names. Use double stick tape to adhere, as doors are not magnetic. for my door dec, I actually tape some cut up magnetic bisiness cards on the back of my pages..tape fully over the piece, then use the double stik on that area, and it peels off, and can be used again and again.I used my same door decs over 30 times.. Time to build new ones! Congrats on your 10th sailing. Lots of variations for you also

Yes... I will do this!!!! I never thought about bringing my own on board!!! GREAT idea!!!

10 stars - one for each of your ten cruises (including this one) - put ship, date, itinerary on each.

PERFECT!!!!! This is GREAT!!!

LOVE IT!!!!

I'm used to getting comments & looks when I use the handicapped line at the casinos because I don't "look" handicapped and I'm young, but I actually am. I think having to get all of my toes on my right foot amputated due to a blood clot qualifies me for the "special" line. If somebody says something to me I'll tell them where to get off at. :o
