Colorado Kat Posted January 4, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2011 You will probably get more help if you post this on the West Coast Departures board. And I know there is more than 1 cruise Port in the LAX area.
cruiserbryce Posted January 5, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 5, 2011 all lines other than Carnival sail from San Pedro. The best we have found has been the Doubletree. The hotel is nice, the rooms are comfy, you can park the car there and they do have a free shuttle
muti Posted January 5, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2011 We're doing the Panama Canal full transit from FLL to LAX and will be staying at the Comfort Inn Cockatoo near LAX -- free airport transportation -- good reviews.
tmitchell82 Posted January 5, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 5, 2011 If you are sailing out of San Pedro, look at the Crown Plaza. Close to the port and a free shuttle to the pier. You can get it for much less than advertised at priceline.com. We will be staying there the night before our Mexican Riviera cruise next week. Nice hotel. huggs Posted January 5, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 5, 2011 We are taking the Panama canal cruise from lax to fort lauderdale and want to know what hotel is near by and free shuttle to the ship port. Need help;) We stayed at the Double Tree San Pedro...got it really cheap on priceline ( check out the west coast board for info on bid )...we were so impressed. They let us check in early, free shuttle, and was located right at the LA Yacht Club and a pretty little beach nearby. Not near town, but hubby caught the shuttle back to town to tour on a old merchant ship and I relaxed at the poolside, in very comfy lounge chair and hot tub. Meal outside on the deck that evening was good and not ridiculously expensive !! We ate our breakfast there the next morning as well. They do have a hot breakfast buffet if desired. Small gift shop and free internet useage in the lobby. I would recommend this hotel whole heartedly. We booked late and they apologized ++ because we could not have a waterfront view.
