Radio, Did you happen to notice if there is a bar server on the pool deck who calls himself "Dr. Feelgood". He walks around with a bottle of rum on his head. We met him on the Independence and saw him again last year on the Oasis. Thanks.

Oh my what a "Blast from the past" ...I forgot about Dr. Feelgood. He was on the Oasis last March when I was on it.

Thanks Radio! I hope during one of my cruises I meet you....you have brought so much delight to my days when I'm dreaming of a cruise. I only have 46 days until I'm on the Allure, so your live thread is very much appreciated.

Thanks so much and hope you are enjoying your cruise.

Hello everyone. . . I can’t believe that it is 11PM, and I am still awake. I guess that 2 hour nap helped me to be up for a little while.

I had a very nice dinner at Giovanni’s up in Central Park. The choices varied, but I had the Insalata Caprese per Due, Ravioli di Polpa di Granchio (Maryland Crab Ravioli w/shrimp), and Ossobuco Alla Piemontese (Veal) The service was great. . .and it took about 3 hours. I dined with MedicKen, and his lovely family.

I am going down to Quest at Studio B at 11:30PM. And that should be some fun. . .It has been several cruises ago that I last attended Quest, so I will see what’s new and improved. . . Most passengers will tell you that no 2 shows are alike.

We have 270 nm to go before we arrive at Costa Maya (Majuhaul)We are scheduled to arrive at 11AM, and we should be there until 7PM. Celebrity Eclipse should be at the pier to welcome us.

My plans for tomorrow are to see what’s new since the port at Costa Maya was destroyed a couple of years ago in the hurricane. I have heard that there has been a new boardwalk constructed down in Majuhaul with many new shops.

Here are a few pics from today’s Aquatheater Show “Splish Splash” I highly recommend this show for all age groups. . .you will definitely walk away with a smile !

Thanks for all of the nice comments, and Thanks for tuning in !

Radio your pics & review are making want to book Oasis again and I haven't even gone on my April sailing yet! You're an asset to us and RCI!!;) Keep the pics coming!

Do you know how long Richard Spacey will be on Oasis? Hope he's still there in April.

Radio, curious as to when you got to Studio B for Quest, were you able to get a seat (looks like you went just before it started)? We have a show booked on the "Quest night" that gets over at 11:15 and am hoping we will still be able to squeeze in Quest.

I was on for the 9/11 and 9/18 cruise. It was in the Blaze lounge and every night I asked for a Jim Beam and coke and was denied. Told that all alcohol brands were not available for this event.

I guess a nice tip in the right hands works;)

Hello everyone. . . When I got back to my cabin after a wonderful day in Labadee, I received an Invitation for a Champagne Sail Away on the Helipad at 4:30.

I wasn’t aware that they offered this event, but it was very nice. Usually passengers are not allowed on the Helipad. I joined an Astrology event last year on the Oasis helipad, (March 2010) but I heard even that was stopped.

They had Bagpipes, The Hotel Director, and several officers. About 150 Diamond and Diamond Plus members were there. (Maybe suites too ?) It was an unexpected but enjoyable 30min. . . I hope they continue to offer this event. . .

Does anyone know if this event is held on the Allure? I will be sailing the Allure in April. We were on the Oasis last April and we did not receive an invitation to this event. We were on the Eastern itinerary. It sounds so wonderful and would love to attend if it's available! We are Diamond.

Stargazing and Astrology were run by Mitch on the Cruise Director Staff of Oasis. He has extensive knowledge of the skies. He warned us many times that if people keep using flash photography out on the helipad at night that the captain would stop allowing him to do this.

I am guessing one of the following:

1) Mitch is on Oasis not Allure. (correct me if I am wrong)

2) Mitch may not be working for RCI anymore or may be on one of his breaks in service.

3) The current captain may not allow it due too too many flashes or just plain NO MORE!

It was a real treat to go out a see. My husband was never interested in that stuff, but after the Oasis he liked to go outside at night and look for the stuff Mitch pointed out.

It was listed in the Compass, everyone was allowed to attend.

It was held twice on our May/June sailing. Once of the Western sky and once of the eastern sky. The second session was much more crowded because word had spread around the ship.

Hello everyone. . . Welcome to Day 5 from Oasis of the Seas Western Caribbean.

Well. . . Let’s see, where do I begin. After my last post, I was going down to Studio B for “Quest” I stopped by Casino Royale on the way to Studio B, and I am surprised about how many passengers are up late (11:30PM) I know, I know. . . that’s what people do on a cruise ship. . . Have fun and stay up late.

The “Quest” was packed as well. . . I couldn’t believe how many people were in there. I stood up the whole time to be ready to exit, if I was selected to be on stage. No worries though. . .there were plenty of passengers who couldn’t wait to get down on the floor, and perform.

It was very exciting, and it seemed to be much more audience participation than I remember from the last time I attended Quest. It was all good fun. Kevin Spacey, and his staff were a riot, and I am glad that I attended. It is un “unwritten” rule that I an unable to let you know the Quest question. . . Sorry. But on your next cruise be sure to attend Quest !

I met up with CC Member WallyGator, and his wife while at the Diamond Lounge (Blaze) earlier last night and we will be going down to the NEW Boardwalk in Majuhaul while in Costa Maya.

I mentioned yesterday that we are scheduled to dock at 11AM

-WRONG-

We are actually scheduled to dock at 12Noon, so we should be cleared by 12:30PM or so. . .

>>NOTE TO RADIO<< Read your Compass before you post something. . . Got it. . .

We are currently about 52 nm from Costa Maya, and the weather appears to be warm and sunny. . . Yes there are a couple of clouds in the sky, but It seems that we will have another lovely day in store for us in Costa Maya !

Here are a few pics from last night. . . And early this morning. . .not really early ( I slept late today and didn’t get up until about 7AM)

Thanks for all of the nice comments, and Thanks for tuning in !

Hi Radio,

Along with everyone else, I search for your thread each morning. :D Now that I'm subscribed, I'll get all the notifications. A big thank you for all the pictures and just about every post you make on here. I'm not even sailing the Oasis but I'm following along like I am. :D

My question is about the beach you went to in Labadee. Was that the beach for suite guests only? We haven't been to Labadee since all the changes so I'm hoping we can find a nice place to relax (we are not suite guests, nor diamond members:o). I loved those blue shade thingys (I know you had a name for them but it escapes me right now.;))

Anyway, I'm really enjoying your review and appreciate the time you take to do this. Hope you are having a blast and your back is back to normal. :)

Mary

Radio, I appreciate your posts. I will be on Oasis on March 19 (first Falmouth cruise). I was wondering which GPS program you are using (seems really neat)? How is the Internet speed? Last Spring I was on IOS and the speed was very slow and few days could not connect. What is the charge for the internet and have you tried skyping?

Also, If possible could you tell what model Samsung TV in room. My wife wants to watch her recorded TV shows on the TV - she gets tired of seeing the same shows repeated on the TV at sea.

Thanks

May you have - Fair Winds and Following Seas

Hey Squint - we haven't seen you on our thread tet - are you cruising on March 19, 2011? Come join us on our thread and join our Meet & Mingle.

The Beach for Suite Guests is Barefoot Beach. . .I am not in a suite, so I was not allowed there. . . There are many other beaches that you can go to though. . . Labadee is a paradise. . .;)

There are several "Neighborhoods" with beaches that you can go to. . . See below for the current map.

I was on the beach between Barfoot Beach Club and Columbus Cove. . .

Thanks for the nice comments. . .

Captain Trym Selvag has announced that we will be unable to arrive in Costa Maya at our scheduled time (12 Noon).

The reason why we will be late is due to " Technical Difficulties with our speed"

We will now arrive at 1PM, and will stay until 8PM (instead of 7PM)

If I find any details about the problem I will post here. . .

Pics of our arrival soon !
