earn Posted January 21, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2011 Our sone will be 10 on the first sea day of our next cruise. He will want to go to eat loads of pancakes or waffles for breakfast (do they still do pancakes or waffles?) go to Johnny Rockets, and have a Flow Rider lesson. I was going to buy him a Happy Birthday Celebration T Shirt from the gift list, but have no idea what it looks like or what size to get. He is average size for 10. Can anyone help with phots or size? Other thing we thought was to have the room decorated, and again photos of that would be great. Hopefully Adventure Ocean will have the kids sing happy birthday. Any other ideas? brianm27 Posted January 21, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2011 You can order a birthday cake. It is around $15 and can be delivered to the stateroom or dining room. We are having one for my wife delivered to the stateroom and ordering the rom decorations as well.
aunursa Posted January 21, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2011 Contact RCI or your travel agent to make sure that his birthday is indicated on your reservation record.
earn Posted January 21, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted January 21, 2011 Yes the cake looks like a good idea, though with so much food already seems a bit strange to buy cake! I will let my TA know thought I am not sure the British TAs are quite so on the ball as the ones in the US as far as this type of thing is concerned. evanandsamuel'smom Posted January 21, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 21, 2011 Friends had our cabin decorated for my 40th, and the happy birthday magnet sign that was on our cabin door is still on my fridge!! Loved it at 40, I'm sure your 10 year old will as well! Enjoy!!
masonpips Posted January 22, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 22, 2011 My son often gets to cruise on his birthday as we have Fall Break in mid-October! I've decorated the cabin, the door and made him a t-shirt one year to wear home (worst birthday ever, day to leave the ship, lol) I'd go to the dollar store and get a bunch of stuff and do up the room and door. Other people will stop him in the hallways and/or wish him HB all day! Langley Cruisers Posted January 22, 2011 #7 Share Posted January 22, 2011 Contact RCI or your travel agent to make sure that his birthday is indicated on your reservation record. Yes, but this actually does nothing. We have had several celebrations noted on our various reservations, and none of them were acknowledged, sadly. You have to do it yourself. You have to order your own cake, remind the head waiter or waiter that it's someone's celebration, and basically just be prepared to handle things yourself. CruisinDawn Posted January 22, 2011 #9 Share Posted January 22, 2011 Here is what ya get from Royal, nothing that great. I would rather do it myself. Not hard to keep a kid that age out of the cabin. There is also a sign on the door. Not so sure it was worth the money but if your a scrapbooker you will get lots of Crown & Anchor anchors in the creape paper and another thing hanging that does not seem to be in the picture. My sister ordered this at an additional charge. Note you can NOT take any flowers off the ship. BonVoyage Dawna

DanJ Posted January 22, 2011 #11 Share Posted January 22, 2011 Our twins celebrated their 9th birthday on the ship last week. I ordered the room decorations, and they were done in the afternoon of the day after departure. I also ordered the cake for dinner on their actual birthday, and it was delivered to our stateroom in the afternoon instead. Fortunately, the waiter who dropped it off recognized us from the dining room and said he would arrange it to be brought to the table. Since there were only 4 of us at our table, we had half the cake left after dinner, and because we got off the ship the next morning, we ended up just tossing it out. I did grab the "It's Your Birthday" magnet off the door as we were leaving, and stuck it in the front pocket of our suitcase, and like a post above, have it on our fridge door (at least until my wife gets tired of it LOL).
