Romco Posted February 13, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2011 DH and I were just discussing the best meal we ever had...on land or sea. We both agreed that the off menu Chateaubriand in Murano on Century beat EVERYTHING. Just bought some Wagyu steaks that were out of this world, but they still didn't come close the the most phenomenal meal ever (onboard Century)...geez Chateaubriand:p. What's your best meal ever onboard Celebrity?:D Colleen

Richard&JohnSTX Posted February 13, 2011 #6 Share Posted February 13, 2011 We were on the Millenium in January and for my birthday booked the Olympic Restaurant - the off menu Chateaubriand offered that evening was the best beef we have had in 35 years of dining together - way to go Celebrity! eandj Posted February 13, 2011 #7 Share Posted February 13, 2011 We haven't found the best meal in any of the X specialty restaurants. Some good ones, some nice courses, but not top meals.

SusieV Posted February 14, 2011 #11 Share Posted February 14, 2011 Wow...sounds Delish! Have to check that out! It's not on the menu but if you eat there a few times, you can ask if they're willing to make it for you. It's amazing.
kathcoll Posted February 14, 2011 #12 Share Posted February 14, 2011 I just got off the Solstice, and enjoyed Blu's menus - but the veal was the best cruise meal ever!
packed&ready! Posted February 14, 2011 #13 Share Posted February 14, 2011 I had a delicious chateaubriand on the Infinity, 2006 at the midnight buffet. Server was carving in a little area in the very rear of the MDR. Just a few cruisers saw him. It was fantastic! I think I had some on another cruise but it was nothing like that time on the Infinity. Gracie115 Posted February 14, 2011 #15 Share Posted February 14, 2011 The Normandie, 2001, BEST food experience anywhere. The original goat cheese souffle, chateaubriand, cheese, dessert, lots of wine and THE BEST service..truly felt like we were being treated like honored guests. It was marvelous. Ate there again on two other cruises and also at the Olympic on Millie...always excellent..but that first time at Normandie just outstanding! TandTinHou Posted February 14, 2011 #18 Share Posted February 14, 2011 Our best meal onboard a Solstice cruise in Feb, 2010 was at Murano's. It wasn't so much WHAT WE HAD, rather, the service and ambiance. It was PERFECT!
shofer Posted February 14, 2011 #19 Share Posted February 14, 2011 Have eaten at the Normandie on Summit twice and can still recall every course. The goat cheese souffle, lobster bisque, Chateaubriand (first time), filet (second time), cheese course, chocolate mousse and the assortment of small desserts. So glad to hear that they brought back the cheese course after the passengers demanded it! We ate at Sabatino's on Princess and it did not even come close. The cheese course is a must with her!:) Kel I'm not sure what they are offering in the way of the cheese course these days, but on our last M cruise a few years ago, there was a cheese trolley that had a huge selection, about a dozen to choose from, that they wheeled to the table. The pont l'eveque was seriously smelly...my husband still makes fun of my reaction!
Sparkle 123 Posted February 14, 2011 #22 Share Posted February 14, 2011 I will always remember our very first dining experience in the Olympic back in November 2004. It was when Michel Roux was the consulatant chef and the whole evening was just the best food, service and ambiance ever. The goats cheese souffle was divine as was the chocolate souffle and the amazing cheese trolley. Its still a wonderful meal in the Olympic but that first time was outstanding and remains one of our best dining experiences to date. I loved it when the waiters would offer you their arm to escort you to the Ladies room and rush to escort you back again when you returned. I had never expereinced that before in any restaurant. I felt like royalty! Wonderful memories:)
phinn Posted February 14, 2011 #23 Share Posted February 14, 2011 To date, the steak served tableside in Murano's on the Solstice. The ambience and the staff made it an experience not to forget.
