IrishEyes2 Posted May 14, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 14, 2004 Has anyone stayed at either of these places? I'm in charge of a large group and don't want to have egg on my face with a bad decision!
katjam Posted May 25, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 25, 2004 Irish Eyes, We stayed at the Amerisuites Miami Airport West in March. The hotel is clean, seems older though, rooms are large, continental breakfast with make your own waffles, fresh fruit, oj, coffee & tea. I'd give the hotel 2 1/2 stars. We rented a car hile we were there, so I'd check to see how many they could fit in the van if you needed to get picked up. Also used the Entertainment Card and got rate of $79.00 per night. Matisse05 Posted May 31, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 31, 2004 Haven't stayed at either; but there are good reviews for both on www.tripadvisor.com I too am doing hotel research. Leaning towards staying near the Miami Port. Miami International Airport Days Inn Hotel offers free pick up from the airport and transport to the port according to the review. I'd check travelocity's reviews as well. luvscruzin Posted May 31, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 31, 2004 We're booked at Sleep Inn near the airport. Free shuttle from airport to hotel and shuttle from hotel to port has a nominal fee (although we may still take taxi to port to get there early). Continental breakfast included. I think our rate was around $75-80. 7/10/04 Carnival Triumph Carnival Holiday 6/94 Dolphin Seabreeze 7/96 (now sunken!) BopRN Posted June 27, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 27, 2004 How was the Sleep Inn? We are booked there for our July Cruise. Would you recommend it? Are there restaurants around? Did you take the shuttle to the port or a cab? We have made reservations for the shuttle but the shuttle co. wanted our credit card info, etc via e-mail at an AOL address and I wouldn't give it to them...so I am not sure we are confirmed for the port shuttle.
