What Dudes/Guys Should Bring on a CRUISE

My SIL thinks it would be perfectly acceptable for him to carry 2 pair of shorts, a swimsuit and 2 t-shirts for a 7-day cruise. He would have no problem packing in his gym bag for the cruise. My daughter and SIL have reached the following compromise for all of their caribbean cruises.

1 suit, 2 dress shirts, 2 ties, 2 pairs of black socks, 1 dress belt; 1 pair dress shoes for formal nights.

2 swimsuits. One to wear, one to dry. Pool and beach.

2 pair of khaki/docker slacks which can be rotated; 3-4 polo shirts; slip-on shoes. Casual nights.

4 pair of shorts; 5 t-shirts; sandals/flip-flops, running shoes. Shore/Ports.

Aftershave, shaving cream, razor, deodorant.

She felt of his head to see if he was running a fevor one night when he went by the gift shop and spritzed himself with a nice cologne (LOL). He would refuse to cruise if he had to carry all this stuff on the list.

This'll be mostly about clothes for 4-day cruises, the only type I experienced. Personal hygiene items and medicine, as well as socks and underwear, are common sense and should go without saying. The items in the categories below may overlap, like jeans, for example.

Dinner on formal/elegant night:

* Dress pants (1)

* Dressy long-sleeve shirt (1)

* Tie (1)

* Formal dress shoes (1)

Dinner on regular nights:

* Khakis (1)

* Polo shirts (2)

* Casual dress shoes (1)

Other times on ship and on shore:

* Shorts (2)

* T-shirts (6)

* Gym shoes (1)

* Backpack for shore excursions (1)

* Jeans (1)

* Bug spray

Swimming on ship and in ports:

* Swim trunks (1 or 2)

* Cover-up T-shirt (1)

* Flip-flops (1)

* Sunblock

Air travel:

* Jacket (1)

* Sweatshirt (1, if needed)
