I agree....nonsmoking ship would be wonderful. I'm allergic to smoke and it can ruin one's time on the balcony, deck, plus smelling it on people's clothes in the elevator, dining room, etc. Makes me sneeze, nose runs, cough.......just miserable.

And how pretell do you expect a nonsmoking ship to alleviate the above, when they are obviously boarding someplace at sometime?

.........more 2 for 1 drink deals in the lounges after 10:30.

Embarcation pictures should be free for latitude members, or at least the pictures from the latitude gatheing, this is a loyalty progarm afterall.

Dare I say it.....alarm clocks for early morning excursions.

Love the 1/2 off for early reservations for restaurants on some ships should be fleet wide.

An automated wake up call service already exists. You can request a wake up call from your in-cabin phone.

On sea days, I'll have a wake up call set in order to make sure I don't miss dinner :)

Take away freestyle dining. We always have to wait at least 1/2 an hour to be seated at dinner and the food and service is not that good. I feel they do this to try and force you to eat at the specialty restaurants which are far better in food quality and service. I have never had this problem on any other cruise line and I have sailed on over 40 cruises.

Strange, but I've NEVER had those problems on NCL.

Charge a little more up front and include more with the price, so when you cruise, you aren't being hounded to buy this or play that. It's one of the things I most enjoyed about the "all inclusive" vacation I took in Cancun.

Do exactly the opposite of this.

Charge less, and make more things optional...like the entertainment.

If I spend most of my time in the casino, I don't really need to be paying extra just because I "could have" seen the show....

Charge $10 for the show, and lower the cruisefare.

I had occasion to stay in an aft facing penthouse last cruise on the Jewel. It was an unexpected and outstanding experience. Why don't the cruise lines let passengers know about the things that one gets with more expensive cabins?

We really enjoyed being immediately escorted to our cabin when we arrived at the pier.

Having a butler and a concierge? In itself, I didn't notice anything outstanding. I got even more attention from a room steward (although I admit on the Gem I did not see the room steward until time to leave and 2 of them were standing at the door, perhaps looking for a special tip.)

We got free DVD's in our Jewel cabin.....we were planning on taking it easy, being on vacation and all....we watched 12 movies.

BTW, there is no wind on the aft facing balcony. That is a treat, but it is a long walk to go anywhere in the ship.

I agree. But, if not, smoking should not be permitted in cabins and especially on the balconies. Nothing worse than inhaling 2nd hand smoke from a balcony nearby. No point in having a balcony if you can not go out on it.

I suppose they need to find out what non smoker do, if we don't drink and smoke. These cruise lines are expert at separating us from our money. Maybe classes on computers (like Cunard) or scuba. Maybe having great guests that are selling books and book signings...and the lines could get a percentage? Maybe reduce their expenditures to increase the bottom line? I have only spent a couple of minutes here, but I am sure they could come up with something.

I'd also look into lowering the photography prices. If they charged 1/3 as much, I bet people would buy at least twice as many pictures. Can't count how many times I've perused the photos and overheard people say "I love this one! But it's just TOO much."

Also seems an incredible waste of paper, printing all those un-bought photos. Is there a way to maybe project them on a screen, and only print the ones purchased??

I am one of those who would purchase more photos if more reasonable. Why not enter into the digital world and install image viewers instead of racks and have a pin # to log onto to view your photos. Download the ones you want onto a disk and print them or not your choice.

and out of Baltimore. I will not fly anymore... I am getting tired of the Bahamas and Florida out of New York. Hitting Canada and Quebec City in about 2013. Going to the So Caribbean in 2012. I would like to go to Bermuda, but I want to be in Hamilton. (which means I have to go on HAL) I would love to take longer cruises out of Baltimore, Philadelphia, etc.

But the number of non smokers in the U.S. keeps increasing. Unfortunately, Carnival does not appeal to older folks who are not looking for a "fun ship" experience, but Carnival had always been my favorite, especially when the ships were smaller. My first Carnival, I think, was the Tropicale on a cruisetour in Alaska. It was wonderful. By the end on 2 weeks we all new each other and had made long lasting friends. I even remember the dancers, the room steward, and the photographer took the best pictures of all. She used the greatest of care to pose us perfectly. People and staff alike were wonderful.

I'd go for a roof over the pool area. It might pay for itself in booze orders if the area was always useable especially for winter cruises out of NYC.

Key West would be a great addition, getting tired of the same old itinerary.

BTW I am a smoker. I have a portable fan I bring for use on the balcony to dissipate the smell.

Please stop the bingo announcements!
