Captain Yngvar Knutsen: i received an email from Norway this morning from Captain Yngvar and his wife Elaine. Captain Yngvar will be joining the Mariner as Master in the next couple of weeks. Thriled that he will be back in the United States sailing from Galveston until the Mariner leaves for Asia .

We were just on the Vision for Xmas and New Year and had Capt Ole-Johan Gronhaug for that one cruise. He told us that he would be on the Adventure on January 6, 2013. I believe that Capt Felix Shrecko Ban is now the Captain onboard the Vision.

 

Since his vacation rotation started 11/2, I thought he'd be back the last week in January. Looks like he came back early.

What a nice place to visit in January, February or March!!;) Though when we were there 2 weeks ago, they had freeze warnings!

 

We got those warnings but only had one light frost this winter - in December. It was 67 before sunup this morning and 72 now. It was predicted to go into the 80s today but hopefully the sun will stay in hiding and prevent that.

 

It has been unusually warm in C FL this year compared to the last 5 years.

 

Next year I WILL go someplace where there is snow. :D I get enough of this t-shirt and flip flop weather in the summer.

I only want to look at snow and "romp" in it. Never want to live with it, too much work. It does get really "warm" in Houston. But I just stay in the shops ad spend money. :p

 

We get some snow about every 10 years or so.;)

Oh, I am almost swooning with delight... looks like Captain Johnny for us on the Feb 24 sailing on the Allure. He was a most memorable part of several earlier cruises. No doubt Capt Tommy is a gem in his own right, but I was really hoping to hear & see Capt Johnny again.

 

Perhaps I will have to book a future cruise on the Allure, just to give Capt Tommy a chance. I'm like that. Very fair-minded.

How is the Allure of the Seas? I have heard that you feel the motion more because it is so large..Also, is it a huge issue with 5000 passengers on board? We were on the Mariner for Thanksgiving, and it did not seem like there were 3000+ passengers on board..Thanks, Lisa
