Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted May 27, 2012 Author #129 Share Posted May 27, 2012 On an NCL cruise as we speak... though they will be kicking us off the ship in the morning... :( If anyone else cares to add in/update, that would be great -- I have not had the time lately! cruiseaholic777 Posted May 28, 2012 #130 Share Posted May 28, 2012 Princess has a great rewards program. Plus they are a better cruise line than RCCL, Carnival and NCL. Celebrity is still a step above these lines including Princess. ;)

sunshine002 Posted May 28, 2012 #132 Share Posted May 28, 2012 Free laundry is outstanding. Two suitcases have now become one. If they set up special platinum lunch with officers for platinums would be nice benefit and would not cost them anything as they are feeding us anyway. I went to a special lunch with Officers on my last RCCL cruise. (my cabinmate had the perk and I was a guest) It was the best meal I had on my 2 week cruise in the MDR. I can't agree more with you! I wish I hadn't, but admit that's exactly where we headed next.... At least EVERY time we book through the Casinos at Sea department (NCL), not only do they give us a great discounted fare, but have nice (unlimited) complimentary drink cards for each of us (and only I play) waiting in our cabin at embarkation!! (hint... the drinks ended up being anything but "free")! Tom

donstan Posted June 6, 2012 #143 Share Posted June 6, 2012 Rccl & Celebrity can,t be beet on there loyalty programs .With 10 cruises on either one you get the free cocktail hours and internet minutes. The cocktail hours are the best, you get to meet so many nice people other than your dining table mates.

Agreed, although now the 10 cruises comes with an asterisk as RCI has moved to a "days sailed" format as Carnival soon will. Cruising comes down to value, and despite the base rate typically being more expensive, the fact that RCI gives me $225 off my balcony cabin up front just for being a Diamond member knocks the pants off what I get from Carnival for being platinum. The open bar beneifts in the Diamond Lounges (on the ships that have them) are just icing on the cake. I prefer Carnival's price and RCI's ships. When the past guest benefits start to even level the playing field on price / value, RCI wins. I was really hoping Carnival would improve their program rather than water it down... but if I've made the decision to book a Carnival cruise I'm thankful for whatever they're giving me as a Platinum.
