msheep Posted August 11, 2011 Author #35 Share Posted August 11, 2011 Love reading this!!!!!How was the temperature on the boat??? Cabins?? Hot....Cold??? Thanks!!! :) The weather inside the ship is mostly very comfortable. Sometimes lounge and dinning room could get cold. We almost always have our light sweater with us during the evening. During the afternoon, there r ppl outside using the pool, but unless the sun is out, I think its too cold for that in my opinion. Temperature inside the cabin is perfect in my opinion. Always cool never too cold or too warm.

msheep Posted August 11, 2011 Author #39 Share Posted August 11, 2011 Late lunch at the grill... It was so foggy, can’t see anything outside. The girls went to sauna while we were still docked. I went back to our room for a nap. Dinner at 7 tonight, no wait and we were seated at a different table in the same section tonight. Just an observation, we were never asked whether we want to sit alone or with other people, also never asked if we want the same wait staff team too. It doesn’t matter to us, we don’t really care as long as we had a good time. However, the food tonight was not as good as the first two nights. =( This cured salmon dish was the nastiest salmon that I ever tasted. All three of us who got it agreed. Fried shrimp was nothing spectacular, but I didn't' expect it to be anyway. =P Marinated fruit plate

msheep Posted August 11, 2011 Author #42 Share Posted August 11, 2011 45 minutes into service, we were still waiting for our main course. Robin, the assistant head waiter (?) was really nice though. We told him we were in a hurry and would like to order the dessert when he gave us our entrée. He was very accommodating. I had flat iron steak again since nothing else on the menu appeal to me, not so lucky today, it was over done, but still edible. Friend’s pork loin, she said it was only ok. My friends had the turkey dish and the grilled chicken. The turkey dish was ok, and the grilled chicken was good. I had the Tiramisu and friends had the old fashion apple pie. Friends said it’s not old fashion apple pie but it still tasted good. My Tiramisu is not authentic either, but it was ok, just a little too sweet for my taste ... again. When we were leaving, Robin brought out a dessert with candle for our friend, Q. Her birthday was the first night of the cruise. We didn’t have a chance to ask the waiter to bring her dessert with a candle that night. They somehow got the message from her booking now and gave her this little surprise. It was very nice of them! =D We got out before 8:30 and catch the 60 second or less game show, it was funny. V went up to Seaside Theater to see the movie "Gnomeo & Juliet", we went looking for her after the game show and this picture probably depicts how cold it was at night outside. It was sooo windy and foggy, looks like there were some drizzle too.
msheep Posted August 12, 2011 Author #43 Share Posted August 12, 2011 We spent some time in the casino waiting for the marriage game show. The marriage show was hilarious. We hung out in Promenade Deck for the night since there was a party there. We called it a night around 1 AM but skipped the Mexican Midnight buffet since we had more than enough food already! msheep Posted August 12, 2011 Author #44 Share Posted August 12, 2011 DAY 4- SEA DAY We told our friend who usually woke up very early everyday that please don’t wake us up at least until 9:30AM XD I was finally able to sleep in a little bit more. I still woke up around 9:45AM, we got ready and went to the towel animal demonstration at 11AM. We taught us how to make the dog and the elephant. We were so hungry and the ship was rocking quite a bit, so we hurried to Lido to find some food. We were so hungry and don’t want to wait for service in the dinning room for lunch. Only one buffet line and omelet station were opened near the main pool area, the lines were crazy! I tried the Deli for the first time, ate half a bagel of smoked salmon and cream cheese, it was ok. I had more chicken fingers and fries AGAIN since the buffet line was not set up yet. Three of our friends went waiting for the Mongolian Wok at 11:50, there were more than 10 people in front of them already! They came back around 11:25, after some much fries and chicken fingers, I’m so glad to eat something different. I like the black bean sauce, the spicy sauce is a little too spicy for our taste. msheep Posted August 12, 2011 Author #46 Share Posted August 12, 2011 I finally saw the whale tail cup on Lido today! I asked 2 different bartenders, they said only can fill it with DOD. The DOD is Ultimate Suntan with.... creme of banana.... I don't like banana... =( Fortunately, they let me buy the whale tail cup alone for $4.95 + 15% My friend wanted to see people play the Charades on Promenade Deck, so we spend more time in the casino. We went back to the cabin to change after a while, time for more Jacuzzi before leaving tomorrow~~ The Serenity area was so empty, probably due to the weather, it was so windy up there without any sun, it was a bit cold to stay outside for long. =/ We all went back to the cabin and get ready for the fun farewell party before 5. There was a crowd outside already, we went to get some sushi and had some free drinks. Nice rum punch. Dinner at 5:45PM today, no wait again, we asked for a table toward the middle section today, the ship was rocking and we definitely felt the movement. We don’t want look at the ocean and waves and get more seasick... First night sitting at a round table
msheep Posted August 12, 2011 Author #47 Share Posted August 12, 2011 Was the waterslide open when you embarked in NYC? No, I don't remember it being open, we wanted to use it on embarkation day since the the weather in NYC was very warm. But we didn't see anyone on it or waiting for it, so we assume it wasn't open. We didn't check the slide entrance though.
msheep Posted August 12, 2011 Author #48 Share Posted August 12, 2011 Sorry, some pictures are blurry.. I had the crab cake, of course it’s not real lump meat crab cake, but it was ok. All of my friends don’t like it, and I had all of theirs. I’m glad I did because my other appetizer, a study in sushi, was just like the cured salmon dish … nasty. Those two dishes were the only BAD dishes I had in the entire cruise. Everything else is either ok, good, to very good. Friend's spring chicken and onion soup
msheep Posted August 12, 2011 Author #49 Share Posted August 12, 2011 Main course: How it taste? Picture says it all: Salmon Before After Friend’s penne mariscos Before After (almost untouch) I tried the Penne Mariscos, it was under cook and the sauce was toooo sour. I think chicken is the safest bet on our sailing, my other friend had the grill chicken again and it was good. Our last dinner on the ship was generally disappointed, but we weren't hungry. If we were, we could always get something else from Lido. Vanilla ice cream always better than Lido, I had at least one scoop everyday!
msheep Posted August 12, 2011 Author #50 Share Posted August 12, 2011 We got out around 7:30 and donated more $ in the casino before the Living in America show. We liked the Just Rock show better, but it was still alright, nice entertainment when nothing else is happening. We then went to the Tommy Drake’s adult comedy show. We all like Tommy Drake way better than Al Ernst. There is not much that interests us for the rest of the evening. We went to the shops and one final stop at the casino. We called it a night around 10:30 and went back to the room to pack a little. We all live out of our suitcase and never really unpack except the toiletries and the elegant night dress. The room is not crowded at all, even with 3 of us and 3 small suitcases lying on the floor. We each have a carry on size suitcase only, so we planned to do self disembarkation the next morning. The expected call time for our deck is around 7:20AM, we decided to do the door hanger breakfast from 6:15-6:45AM. Early morning call tomorrow, we went to sleep before 12 since one of friend is going straight to work after disembark. =O DAY 5- DISEMBARKATION DAY I woke up around 6:20AM, room service came around 6:25. The delivery person must think that we’re pig. XD 3 plates of fruits for the 3 of us, toasts and salmon, cereals, OJs. Our deck was actually called last, at 8AM for self assist. We were out on the street by 8:20AM, and were glad that we didn’t do zone disembark. We saw hundreds of luggage being taken off the ship as we walked to the customs. Picture is not so clear, but there are LOTS of luggages~~~ We called a cab after we got out and the cab was having some hard time looking for us. We have to went up to the drop off areato find the cab, finally on the cab at 8:48AM. Back to Queens at 9:27AM and home before 10AM. Our friend V WALKED all the way for almost half an hour from 12th ave to 5th ave for work!!!! [clap clap] I still want to do a final remark tomorrow if I have time~ Hope everyone enjoy my review!! Thanks all for reading it!!!
