Andoria Posted August 19, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2011 My needs were few: give me a quiet place to read and good food to eat. My boyfriend told us our room would be in the bowels of the ship so imagine my surprise and delight at finding a balcony. The Upgrade Fairy was very kind:) I never saw my room steward but he/she magically kept my room clean and my vodka on ice. I was so impressed by how hard the staff works. We stayed clear of the dining rooms after we waited a half an hour without being called. Between the buffet and room service, I didn't see the point in eating in the MDR. The pizza guys knew my son by name and the Fish and Chips guy knew that I knew garlic bread came with the bouillabaisse. The only con I can think of is that some of the lines were crazily long. I stood in the Mongolian wok line for 10 minutes and it never moved. It would have taken me at least an hour and a half to get up to the counter. I'm really surprised that Carnival doesn't do something about this. Does anyone know why? My 12 year old son had a BLAST. He has been locked in his room video chatting with all of his new friends since we came home. I didn't see much of him and that was unexpected. I saw one show: the illusionist guy. In all fairness, I stayed in the hot tub on the Serenity for a few hours drinking and I was downright buzzed (some might say drunk) for the entire show. I do not think I could give an accurate review because I only sobered up when leaving. Some pictures: Bliss for me: How I spent the majority of the cruise: The only time I saw my son: View from my balcony: Hopefully my review made sense. The ground is still shaking on me and it has been a long day. In short, it was a wonderful cruise and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
tassycatt Posted August 19, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2011 I was on the Glory this pat April with my hubby and we had a balcony room. Loved it so much Im taking my daughter on the Glory in January. The lines were not so bad on our cruise...maybe its worse in the summertime. Fourseventeen Posted August 19, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 19, 2011 I gotta agree...the lines at some of the buffet sections is terrible....especially the Mongolian grill and in the mornings for the omelets. It gets out of control!
