Things to do in Anguilla

We will be visiting Anguilla via a ferry from St. Maartin this November and wondering what to do there. Not sure how much time we'll be there for but maybe a few hours. Are there things to do/see near the ferry dock? Also, are there beaches close by?

If this isn't a ship tour, watch your time... the ferry service is relatively "dependable" but not always punctual and they wait for no man not on ship tour:eek:

What ship are you on and the hours in port?

I did this solo last December. Now I arrange for a tour guide prior to arriving on the island. But I can tell you that there's a taxi booth once you clear customs.

I was on the island about five to six hours. The Maasdam was in port for a very long time.

Now also take in mind that you want to factor in traffic back to the cruise pier from Margiot. I stayed on Anguilla a little longer to make sure on my return that most of the rush hour traffic was gone.

The ferry ran at least once every hour. Just double check the timings at the port.

I will look up my review and post it for you.

There were beaches nearby, but off the top of my head, I can't recall any of them.

I hope this is helpful.

Thank you so much for the information. We'll be on Celebrity Summitt which will dock from 8 to 5 or 5:30. Hoperfully we'll be off the ship around 9 and my guess is they'll want us back on board an hour before. Since it's our first time in St. Maartin it would be nice to cover that as well. Do you remember approximately how long it took to get to Anguilla from the where the cruise ship docks?
