For all those who are interested, Beresford is now back on board Radiance of the Seas. He has taken his place as the bartender behind the bar in the Concierge Lounge. Expect him there if you are cruising on RD between now and the end of June.

For those of you sailing on Jewel in the future, you had better hope that Diego gets back soon. Catalina who is standing in for him, sits at her desk and ignores the guests in the lounge. Have tried to introduce ourselves twice and got brushed off. Never any room in the lounge. Tonight, bartender said we could sit outside. Opened the door and pointed to chairs in the centrum.

Unfortunately, if you do not get there prior to opening, you will not get a seat and Catalina cold care less.

Thats harsh. The Concierge can't do anything about crowding - that's entirely a function of how many D+/Pinnacle/suite guests are onboard. And the fill-in is seldom going to be as good as the regular, since they are usually plucked form Guest Services and aren't as familiar with things.

 

We are onboard now, and I think that Catalina is doing a good job so far. Far better than so e regular Concierges we've encountered over the years. We get to the lounge at 6:00 or so, and there are plenty of seats. There is also an overflow in Hollywood Odyssey with all of the same amenities. Catalina does stay at her desk, but is busy with guests requesting reservations and other assistance. Bernadine is a terrific bar server.

Hi Everyone! Quickie question from a newbie RCCL cruiser: We are sailing on the Freedom on 12/22. (in a GS) Will/should the concierge contact us before that? Thanks for your answers.:)

There's no set procedure, it's up to the concierge. You may want to contact the concierge yourself.

some do, some don't. heck we have had the same concierge multiple times and only get a preview/welcome email about half the time.

 

if there is something you want them to handle before you arrive, be proactive and email them about 7-10 days out.,

Thank you both for your speedy responses. There is nothing urgent we need the concierge to do. Already made ice show reservations, have our dining time set. Looking forward to trying RCCL for the first time!

Willie was on the Brilliance and just went home on vacation November 16, so he is probably not due back until January.

Rahul is in the CL -- I think through the end of Jan. (Diamond)-Jorge Gutierrez till 01/12/14

(Bertrand Almeida on vacation) Think Bertie will be in DL from Jan. 12 on.

Oana Popa will be in the CL until February. She does not know when in Feb. that she will return to her DL

 

We were on the Liberty last week and Carlos said he would be back by the time we cruise again on Feb. 6th. Carlos was smiling all week long. LOL

Slacking, not a chance. I just talked to her today. She did not know when in February she would go back but now with tomko2's info, we know she will be back in the DL by 2/6/14. I'll have to let her know.:)
