>"I guess people do not really fancy a burger on this ship, although they did look huge and delicious I must add."

I think many of us do and it is one of the first food choices I make, and the fries are really yummy too.

Agreed! Have tried the French Fries with the Crispy Chicken from the Room Service Menu and have to say they are some of the best fries we have EVER had...especially with mayonnaise!:D

We are all enjoying reading of your Legend Castle voyage! Thank you so much!

Back in 2001, on the March Pride Crossing we had only 96 Guests ~talk about an empty boat? Alot of fun ~akin to a Seabourn family reunion.

Have a continued safe, wonderful cruise ~

Thank You Martita B....we are so enjoying our Legend Castle. We are about to anchor off of Egypt and wait for our convoy position before starting our transit late tonight in the middle of the night before we line up for our convoy position early tomorrow morning.

Seabourntraveller,

I think you will see Jan again, so hope that the knee is progressing well.

Will probably see her if we sail on one of the larger yachts.

I must say that when we met her on Sojourn "worldie" she could not have been any kinder to us and such a professional.

Thanks again for your very interesting "blog" makes it seem as though we are sailing with you.

Leta and Rex Lees.

Good Evening from the "Floating Castle" the Legend. We are anchored here at the mouth of Port Said approx. 10 miles offshore just sitting here waiting for our slot time to join the convoy.

We had the Veal Loin and the Sea Scallops which both were unbellieveable in taste and in presentation. I opted for a ceasar salad and my travelling companion had the salda from the Restaurant Menu. I have to admit the portions are a tad bit on the small size if you are a hearty eater...FYI.

They had a scrumptuous Mocha Ganache Chocolate Cake that was divine!

A couple of Cappucino's and it was a perfect evening.

We are going to go out and "investigate" up and about upstairs and see what's out there amongst us with all the other ships.

Over and Out from the "Floating Castle" the Legend!

There are four of us joining you in Dubai on the 20th and I must say that you are making the wait much more difficult with those menu postings! Thank you so much for the preview and we will see you in two weeks.

Susan

Just consider it as I am getting you all primed up and ready for board the Legend!;)

Thanks for you the great posts. After reading you menus it makes me glad I only have two months to go before we get back on a Seabourn ship. Also looking forward to the wonderful way the staff interact and make us feel special. Sigh, the waiting is hard though.

Day 5: Suez Canal Tranit

Good morning from the Legend as we started our transit into the Suez Canal. We are moving slowly in our escorted convoy in the Suez Canal. Our transit started late last night and we are now making our way along with 18 other ships in our convoy. It's 7:20am local time here in Egypt and we will be going up to the Verandah Cafe and grabbing a table by the rails and having our breakfast while watching the transit.

We couldn't feel any movement last night at all as we started to make our transit.

More to come later today from our "Floating Castle" the Legend!

Was there any narration of the Suez Canal transit?

There was a port lecture two days ago giving the history on the Suez Canal. We have yet to venture above to see if they/he (the Captain) is making any annoucements as we make our way thru the Suez Canal. I have been on other cruiselines whereby they did do this. I'll get back to you later and let you know if they do or don't.

We will be anchoring in Great Bitter Lake in approx. 30 minutes time for the next 3 hours awaiting the North Bound Convoy to exit and then we will proceed in the South Bound Convoy.

Just came back from breakfast now from the Verandah Cafe and had a hearty full breakfast on the back deck overlooking the Great Bitter Lake as we awaited our turn to enter the Suez Canal. There has been no announcements thus far on any open decks regarding the Suez from either the Bridge or the Port Lecturer. It's currently 72F and hazy here in Egypt today and calling for a high of 78F and sunny. Could be a day to lay out on deck or try that oversized "bathtub" of a pool!

Had the usual for breakfast and as always Claudia is there within seconds with our two long black coffees! Joel wasn't working his station as usual but was outside on deck with us taking breakfast orders alongside Justin.

They opened the Sky Grill for breakfast as well on deck this morning from 7:00am to 9:00am and kept the Verandah Cafe open for breakfast from 7:30am until 10:30am. Same as yesterday they will have the Verandah Cafe open for lunch from 12 noon until 2:00pm and also the Sky Grill from 1:00pm until 3:00pm....hmmm decisions, decisions!:D...might even go for a CheeseBurger with onion Rings at the Sky Grill this afternoon with a milkshake...yummy yum.

More to follow later today from our "Floating Castle" which is just currently anchored and floating until we sail into the Suez Canal aboard the Legend.

Further update on our transit of the Suez Canal....we are just about to leave Bitter Lake and transit into the mouth of Port Said and enter the Suez on our 25 miles journey before we end up into the Red Sea shortly after 3:30pm. The Captain has announced that our convoy consists of 25 ships heading south and transiting the Suez along with us. The distance kept between ships is approx. 1 mile between ships. The weather today is sunny and a high of 21 C or 70F thus far.

Will be going for lunch in an hours time and hopefully continue our "relaxing program" on the "Floating Castle" as Martita B. puts it, the Legend.

Through the Kiel Canal, the Panama Canal and the Corinth Canal, Seabourn's lecturer provided full narration. Surprised there was none through Suez last year. Just wondering if this was standard or our experience was an anomaly.

Thank you Seabourn Traveller for posting. I'm enjoying traveling with you, although vicariously.

Oh yes, Was Alexandria/Cairo the only port scheduled for Egypt? We have 3 port stops and am hoping they keep the Safaga and Sharam El Sheik (sp?) ones.

There was only the Captain's Daily announcement at twelve whereby he talked a little about our journey today in the Suez Canal, other than that there was no port lecturer making annoucements while navigating thru the Suez. Post Said was the only port that was cancelled in Egypt due to the unrest in Cairo. We are still scheduled to stop in Sharem el Sheik and 2 days in Safaga over the weekend.
